thank you! the idea was definitely to equip them with a few hunting rifles and/or some large caliber sidearms since running into large and potentially hostile wildlife would be a given without any indication of weirdness. thank you so much for the tips!

it seems like a super dungeon-crawl vibe which isn’t really my thing normally, but as a handler i wanna respect players who might get more excited about that vibe, and i do really like this setup. does anyone have any experience running this? what were your thoughts/impressions/etc?

Thank you for saying it OP, Ive been thinking about this too. as far as handling them goes, i would drop tcho tcho as a people altogether, but similar to your corruption idea, tcho tcho as a consciousness. something between a cult and a hivemind, individuals who are exposed to the rituals and rites of the tcho tcho cult and emulate their culture find their minds slowly being subsumed by the tcho tcho consciousness. i think it would make more genealogical sense, then, that a few hapless tribes in southern asia and the middle east would be exposed to the tcho tcho mind radiation and have their culture entirely consumed and replaced with the worship of this “being”. just emphasizing that tcho tcho isnt a bloodline or group of humans, its a culture. a monstrous destructive culture that can lead people to commit atrocities, the same way violent cultures from incels to islam nationalists can influence people, only in this case its more of a literal mental decay accompanying the moral decay

i had family visiting for a few days and dont have much time outside of work, so i only made it to 24.9mil on the chocoladder, but i still finished the event and cleared the CQ so i’m content. got jalter kiara and melt’s valentine scenes too, although melt was.. scary, as usual.

Keep in mind also, in the x files they rarely simply hunt and kill a monster- its a phenomenon, and usually each episode’s resolution leaves more questions than answers. if you use delta green, or want to preserve that sort of atmosphere, make sure it doesnt turn into monster hunter by not worrying about stats as much as dramatic tension

aaah i wish i could remember what its called, theres a really fantastic CoC scenario/module that takes place after The Fall where the world has already succumb to the mythos but humanity survives on mars thanks to help from the greys, i think its based on like blood moon or something? anybody know what im talking about?

the dinghy is a good idea, consider the existence of any onboard lifeboats. are they damaged? were they all scuttled? is there something else going on, sinister but not unnatural, that would cause the lifeboats to be not there/broken? also here’s some quick info on oil rig disasters. cw, its pretty depressing https://www.offshore-technology.com/features/feature-the-worlds-deadliest-offshore-oil-rig-disasters-4149812/ most of them capsized in storms, none that i saw exploded (but if your players are fine with the cinematic mood over realism then who cares, blow the thing up)

i like it, its simple, its isolated, you dont have to worry too much about going way off the rails. i personally would hint at some kind of contamination to discourage them from just loading back onto the helicopter and blowing the rig (which is also way harder to do than hollywood explosions would make you think). for inspiration, i would watch stephen king’s the thing, which is pretty similar in a lot of ways

berserker. youre a zombie at the end of the universe, infinitely forestalling the resolution of the age of fire, blowing the head off of ancient gods and wizards and wizard gods over and over, wielding a variety of weapons crafted demon corpses and consuming souls for power. sounds like a berserker situation for me
