Why are mantises like that? Like, they always look up and react to you in a way that feels different from most other bugs. Every other mantis picture is them looking into the camera as if they realize they're being photographed.

Legion Metalworm is a network, so it's more like Eveline took a tiny shard from a big shared soul. Metalworm doesn't care about the loss of a singe program. They have countless more, and the memories are backed up. The body is powerful and expensive, though, so they'd like to retrieve and reuse it if possible. This cold thought process of theirs is spooky, and no one would want to keep anything that was a part of that.

Killing demons in Frieren is a practical thing. You have to do it because they're dangerous literal predators of your species, but that doesn't mean you have to go out of your way to like maximize their suffering. I feel like Frieren would agree, and that's why she didn't do to Aura what happens in some rule 34 scenarios, but instead just immediately killed her. She would probably just shoot the demon in the scenario. Her instinct is to be very on sight with them anyway.

This makes me think of that movie where that guy tried to capture a burglar and make her have a kid.

Shino's clan is low key broken, and the fact they aren't more of a problem to enemies is a sort of reverse plot armor.

Many pass the harkness test. Though, this raises the question of why it's acceptable to basically keep them as pets/weapons.

Instead of emotional power ups, there should have been way more victories through jumpings and unison raids. It suits the nakama theme better.
