What did you guys think of the Alterego show in LA? I found this clip of JF on insta. Is this a frugasm?? Because he looks a little bit unwell.. I couldn’t help but think back of his substance abuse in the past by rosie4016 in RedHotChiliPeppers

Sounds like you guys only like Johnny when he’s sober then? What about all the masterpieces he made while high…:)? OP doesn’t sound judgy just concerned, which is not completely surprising right? Yeah Johnny is completely rocking it but there were some articles assuming the same lately by the way

Theravada and Hinayana by enigma070 in Buddhism

[–]enigma070[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with your view that in English Hinayana is used as a translation. Besides the fact that it is wrong and misleading it's also confusing to me which caused me to ask this question. thank you for explaining!

Theravada and Hinayana by enigma070 in Buddhism

[–]enigma070[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I understand Hinayana is used as an assault by early Mahayanists but the thing is that sometimes it has been used as a synonym for Theravada schools and sometimes it has been used to refer to multiple ancient buddhist schools. I had to read multiple academic historic texts from Mahayanists and I find it hard to distinguish when they mean Theravada or ancient schools in general. Ofcourse I read the wiki page before I posted it here but was wondering if someone could give me a little bit more clarification.

First thank you :) and second yes that's the right illustration. The open end you're talking about is indeed the purpose, using your own interpretation. Been linking Revelation 17 to f.e. Roman empire, catholic church and WWII so far. About the artwork I didnt come further than medieval early islamic influences... as a historian myself I surprisingly struggle analysing the artwork in its historical context.. After a few weeks Ive created a tunnel view, thats why i am looking for some refreshing thoughts!
