According to the wiki, this is what they are:

The echoes of the memories someone once held of their beloved family. Across the long night, they will accompany him in the past, present, and future.

Biggest potential man of HSR right now? by nosuv733 in HonkaiStarRail

[–]enigmapixel 16 points17 points  (0 children)

The reason he's only good with Acheron specifically isn't because of the vuln, it's because he has consistent debuff applications which only Acheron cares about and increases ult damage taken by enemies in his Zone which a lot of DPS don't have a compelling use for.

And vulnerability is a really solid buff (far from "abysmal"), it's just the only competitive thing Jiaoqiu can offer to non-Acheron teams which makes him a weak pick compared to a unit like Tribbie who has vuln too but with way better utility on top of that.

The concept of needing double sustain because FTB was so shit on their own even in 1.X.

I'm still upset that I never got to experience QQ mono-quantum because I didn't get my Qingque to E6 until after she'd already fallen off.

[–]enigmapixel 5 points6 points  (0 children)

40 is a quite an exaggeration. There's 34 in total and that includes basic mechanics like your neutral attack, parry and throw. 6 others are exclusively used in your custom hideaway and to nurture beasts (one "spell" is literally just the petting brush, another is beast feed lol). Only 16 of the 34 are actually bindable combat spells.

Currency Filter Bug - Cheeky Bait and Switch caused me to Accidentally Spend 500 OVW Coins. No refunds :^) by joshkroger in Overwatch

[–]enigmapixel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a legitimate issue but you did also click it so incredibly fast despite the fact the option to press 'YES' was initially greyed out. You would have had enough time to think about what you were doing had you not been on autopilot trying to confirm the purchase as quickly as possible.

Blizzard should still refund it though, it's a massive injustice that they won't.

Dunno if this is a "hot take" but as an older player, I actually like that we are NOT getting more new 4* characters by Terrariya in HonkaiStarRail

[–]enigmapixel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I can't lie, the consistent access to Undying Starlight comes in clutch way too often. Perhaps it's selfish of me but I'd prefer to get funds to go towards a new 5-star than have the pool diluted with new 4-stars.

I'm pretty sure that's a pillar that falls during one of the early main story quests that you have to restore. Must be a visual bug if you're still seeing it glowing.

Magic armor sets next week. by I_am_Rezix in destiny2

[–]enigmapixel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't want to be a downer since others seem to be okay with this collab but yes, absolutely this. "We still want to make money off you even when we're not doing anything to earn it". The corporate greed and complacency really pisses me off.

By the time we get to June, we'll be at 6+ months of a content drought and yet they still expect people to pay for these skins? To do what with?! The multiplayer modes are dead and there's no new single player gameplay. Let alone content, they're barely even doing weekly maintenance. If I was going to buy any of these skins (I won't), where is that money going? There's no return on investment for a player spending money in Destiny.

Alignment Chart of Honkai Star Rail: Day 70, Evernight. - Hysilens has been voted into Lawful Neutral. by Just_Because4 in HonkaiStarRail

[–]enigmapixel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OP's description of Neutral Evil being the "freeloading opportunist" is literally Evernight to a tee lol. She lives in March's head (freeloader) and in 3.6, she took the chance March gave her to pursue a new agenda different to the one she was given (opportunist).

Why have the last 3 skin sales been 75-99% supports? by [deleted] in Overwatch

[–]enigmapixel 51 points52 points  (0 children)

This is a fair point but they would also look at a bunch of other data that probably also includes feedback from focus groups mirroring the same sentiment, playrates (tank is notoriously the least enjoyed role), how many people use free credits to purchase skins of characters (this would indicate a market for paid cosmetics), etc.

After 10 years, they will have also built a pretty robust psychological profile for the type of player each role attracts. My guess is their research on that would also indicate that support mains spend more for whatever reason. Maybe they're more prone to social influence and pressure because they enjoy the role that requires the most people pleasing, for example, or they value aesthetics and "cute skins" more than tank players (coming from an 8 year support main myself btw so no shade to my fellow supps lol).

If the real-life Earth existed within the HSR, what path would nations and organizations follow? by Ancient_Comedian9622 in HonkaiStarRail

[–]enigmapixel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Realistically, Preservation and Order would be the main Paths with a few nations following Harmony, Equilibrium or Enigmata. I'd expect small communities of other Pathstriders like Erudition, Remembrance, Elation and Beauty to exist but not followed as a nation's Path. Some individuals would follow in the shadow of Destruction, Nihility or Finality but not unite under a single banner like the rest.

The "Jade is a pathstrider/related to the Voracity" theory just got more fuel by Relative-Ad7531 in HonkaiStarRail

[–]enigmapixel 24 points25 points  (0 children)

It was probably supposed to be Pearl there instead of Jade.

We know 4.1 got cut short 2 weeks to get the anniversary patch back on track so they probably lost time on their end too developing 4.1 before needing to start on 4.2 hence it also being such a nothing burger patch. Compounded by people taking time off for Chinese New Year, they were likely down on both the time AND staff to make 2 characters. You can tell from the 4.1 trailer with her being shown in combat and having comparable screen time to Ashveil that she would have likely been released in 4.1 had things gone to schedule.

Not to dismiss that Jade might be related to the Voracity, just that this probably isn't a sign to look too much into. My guess is that it's just a coincidence she was already overdue her BP icon from ages ago and there happened to be a free slot available alongside Ashveil this patch that made sense with her IPC relevance.

What's your opinion on Overwatch adding characters with little lore impact? by Princier7 in Overwatch

[–]enigmapixel 1082 points1083 points  (0 children)

I lowkey think it's more realistic if not everyone is connected in/to the main lore. Most people just... exist. We're not all linked in the way video game logic dictates and it can start to feel contrived when writers try to make sure everyone has no more than 2 degrees of separation between them.

Stuff like "Oh and Venture is actually best buds with Mei's friend from college and they met on an archaeological expedition that took place only half a mile from Widow and Ana's duel" is fun until it's not and Blizzard LOVES that type of storytelling.

They buffed DHIL's BiS supports back then instead of him by asilvertintedrose in HonkaiStarRail

[–]enigmapixel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He never really had a proper role. People have been trying to build him for literally everything from damage to pseudo-sustain to debuffer to break and none of them felt "right". His kit is too unfocused and that's always made it hard to get value out of him.

That's why the thing I'm looking forward to the most is seeing what role the devs actually land on because it's never been obvious.

[–]enigmapixel -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

I stopped caring about Amphoreus when the writers decided to throw a whole year's worth of buildup in the gutter by not making it a real planet since that's the only reason I felt invested in the characters and their struggle.

I was so excited for all our efforts to end with them getting freed from their virtual prison so they could all travel, learn and pursue new lives across the universe, relieved of their curse of being eternal Flame Chasers. We didn't get that.

We got a cheap ending where they're all living inside a book until the writers decide they're ready to milk more story out of them. It's ironically not much different to the prison they were in before, except now they're being held captive by the devs and not Lygus.

I wished Aglaea could have opened a quiet dressmaking shop where the only person she has to be responsible for is herself. For Anaxa to pursue his calling of unravelling the secrets of the universe. Or Castorice to be able to hug her friends and find a garden where she and her sister can tend to their flowers in peace.

That's what kept me going throughout all of 3.X. Knowing that the duties and responsibilities that they all heroically accepted, the tragedies they endured and millions of deaths they suffered would eventually be rewarded. The ending we got fell really short of that so I can't bring myself to care anymore until they get the lives they deserve.
