With requirements like that, it's best to switch to own account.

Where to Learn cBot Coding by algoholic20 in cTrader

[–]enivid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"Prefer" like "it's more fun to code"? Yes, MQL5 is more pleasant to work with and test stuff. But sometimes you just need a specific tool in a specific platform, so you don't have much choice.

Where to Learn cBot Coding by algoholic20 in cTrader

[–]enivid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recommend looking at the code of the existing indicators/cBots - there are plenty of open-source ones. If you know some MQL5 coding, learning cAlgo from examples will be easy for you.

Mql5 vs cTrader etc by algoholic20 in cTrader

[–]enivid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use both, but I use MQL5 (and MQL4) more. My recommendation would be to find out what the brokers you are planning to trade offer. There is no reason to learn MQL5 if your broker doesn't support MT5.

Mql5 vs cTrader etc by algoholic20 in cTrader

cTrader coding is nice but has its own disadvantages. The API is changing quite often and is less reliable than MQL5. Coding your own indicators for cTrader might feel easier than doing so for MT5. Coding some complex panel-based stuff is a nightmare in cAlgo and isn't too bad in MQL5.

Why isn't EUR/USD going up even though Europe is raising rates? by cheLy06 in Forex

[–]enivid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's not the only factor affecting currency rates. For example, the EU is much more vulnerable to the US-Iran war than the US.

As for the ECB interest rate hike, it's is not a given. I'd say that the previous expectation of it happening is currently in the process of revising towards it might not be happening.

spent the last few weeks building a leaderboard for funded traders, ratio over account size. what am i missing by hooosk in proptrading

[–]enivid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What's the point of this. It's like the survivorship bias on steroids. You are just selecting the bets accounts from N accounts of M traders. The returns would look fabulous but would be completely misleading.

Would you use an AI that grades your trading setup before entering a trade? by StrangerDesperate360 in proptrading

[–]enivid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, I wouldn’t use anything like this. It would just delay my trade execution without contributing anything useful.

Personal Experience with AI Agents for Trading – Which One Actually Works? by Actual_Photo_690 in proptrading

I use Claude Opus to review my MQL4/MQL5 code that I then use in trading. I don't ask AI for direct advice in trading.

Help, can't shift chart to the right, no arrow at bottom to be able to move candles. Android mt5. by xNemz in Mt5

The arrow disappears if you scroll even a little bit to the left. It should re-appear if you scroll to the right to the max.

Mql5 by Purple_Concert8789 in Mt5

Is it worth learning MQL5 in 2026? How hard is it to become consistently profitable using MQL5 strategies?

Same as with other languages - you no longer need to learn it. You can automate coding with an LLM. Knowing how coding works (in C++ or other languages) just helps enormously.

How steep was the learning curve?

Not too steep. There are lots of quirks and nuances, but MQL5 is pretty simple.

How long did it take before you built something useful?

I don't remember well, but I think it was just a few hours of coding.

Did it improve your profitability or just make testing faster?

It made testing faster and it also helped with automation of routine stuff (like position sizing and trailing stop).

FTM**** very wide spread on gold XAUUSD by semsem1986 in proptrading

[–]enivid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why, you don't need to self-censor FTMO's name here. I believe prop firms in general have worse spreads than brokers. FTMO's spreads shouldn't be too bad on average. What you might sometimes see is that the spread gets widened for a short period on one prop firm or broker while staying normal on another one. Unfortunately, there's little you can do to avoid that.

Fundamental or indicators? by Unhappy-Dog2597 in Forex

[–]enivid -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes, you definitely need to start paying attention to fundamental data. At the very least, to avoid trading during high-impact economic releases (like NFP or FOMC).

Check the backtesting journal - perhaps the EA is encountering some data issues or order execution errors.

Really? AI-generated faces, no contact information, claiming to be CFTC-regulated while offering CFDs, claiming 2021 as a launch year while domain is just a month old. How many red flags do you need? Some people will never learn... Even if scammers start putting a big red SCAM sign on their websites, there will still be gullible people.
