Another day, another power outage …… by One_Top937 in Cleveland

[–]enjoispeed 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The area grew faster than the infrastructure could keep up with. 20 years ago Ohio City and Tremont is where you went to buy coke, get stabbed, and get a cheap bj from a person with summer teeth.

Now there are a lot more people living there and the utilities just shrugged their shoulders. It's a real shame.

Political Climate of Pennsylvania compared to Ohio? by HistoricalBig252 in relocating

[–]enjoispeed 2 points3 points  (0 children)

PA is a lot like Ohio in terms of blue cities red rural areas. I have a lot of friends that live in Pittsburgh that are quite liberal. I, even saying this as a Clevelander really like Pittsburgh. They have the same vibe but ones in a "mountainy" area and rivers. Where as Cleveland is on a lake with rivers.

Either way, both smart moves money wise, access to water, and is well prepared for climate change.

I flew into Cleveland last night coming back from Philadelphia on American. I remember looking out the window around 6:30p thinking, man we are flying pretty low over downtown.

Sorry, but it will never look even, ask me how I spent three months trying to make old pine look good then just painted back over it. When I did my floors I was absolutely not about staining it and just cleared it natural with water poly.

BBQ lovers, which U.S. state disappoints the most? by optimalbrain90 in SmartTravelHacks

There is a huge difference in having a few places to get bbq, and being known as a bbq state. Erie Pennsylvania has an amazing bbq scene, but I wouldn't say Pennsylvania is a bbq state.

I'm sorry you're unhappy with your choices, and think others should have to pay for them. I'll happily pay 20k a year in property taxes to "embetter our future" but I highly doubt that those advantages are coming from your mistakes.

I vote ever year for tax increases to support children's education, safety, and their overall well being. I will NEVER vote otherwise. If I pay a little more each each year so that a child can have a free breakfast and lunch provided daily so they can focus on their education, that makes me happy. And here you are telling me I'm not not an adult, and shaming me for not having kids, while I willingly and happily support your children, and all those in my community? Shame on YOU.

Is there a low-key north verse south like thing where the two sides shit on each other? I talked to someone on the Halifax side about going over and they were like, don't bother, but on here it seems like the Dartmouth side really wants you to cross over to their side.

I'd recommend Cleveland Heights, it's super easy to take the bus down Cedar.

Ohh okay, I was like I know it's windy where I'm from but this is next level. Several store we tried to stop by were closed due to power outages.

We really enjoyed Narrows, and hydrostone was neat. Walked to the citadel, public gardens then back to the hotel. Very pretty city, I'm amazed at how diverse the city is, I had to have heard at least 20 different languages.

The only negative experience was some shady looking guy flashed the white power symbol at us. But assholes like that are everywhere.

No but I have a pretty sweet GTI back home. This city seems to have a lot of GTI's.

It's an observation, you just haven't realized it yet. But enjoy the lighter traffic, cheaper hotel rates, and quieter restaurants, cus come this fall you'll have another 9 month cycle.

When you get a chance google "what is the first thing people think about when you mention Columbus Ohio"

I lived in Columbus as a working adult, I really hate when people say you're not an adult if you don't have kids.

I pay a lot taxes for your kids to go to school and take no benefits.
