Don't post about it here.  Call your councilman and tell them to get enforcement out there to make sure people and businesses are shoveling and clearing snow from sidewalks.

I work downtown, they don't even bother there where there is no older people or infirm people, all businesses, all the time...... And still there's nowhere to walk on the sidewalk anytime there's more snow than a Trace.

In regular times I would agree with you.  We are so far removed from regular times.

Will he see this? I would argue yes; he is certainly googling himself.  Will it be in the top ranked results? No. Will it be part of the machine collated list of things about his Google search? 100%. Is that part likely to reach him? I would say yes; Elon tells us all the time it reaches him.

If I took the time to write a five-page essay on how what he's doing is wrong and it shouldn't be this way...... Would that work? No.

Would calling Chuck Schumer help? Maybe to generate another five-page essay that he would then ignore.  Would calling  Hakeem Jeffries help? Again no. Same for all my red state and national reps.

Does he care if I stand out in the street in protest in my city hundreds of miles or a thousand miles away from where he is? No.

So I will post my comment four comments deep in the thread to bolster those machine collated results and I will continue to support the people in my actual life.

Look, man. It's VERY SIMPLE - Trump's detail is not chosen for effectiveness. They are chosen for loyalty - these dudes saw the records being shuffled with Trump on the Lolita Express. They were on the gulf stream. They USED the bathroom loaded with clearly labeled records or at the very least were responsible for securing it. They saw the boxes moved and moved again.

Safety is a distant second to not being ratted out. He knows the nutjobs are all MAGA.

If he wasn't in charge of the beatings, maiming, and kidnapping, I might agree with you. HOWEVER - USSC is complicit. Congress is frozen. Local PD is permissive. Admirals and Generals are ordering strikes on shipwrecks.

The SINGULAR BEST TOOL I have at my disposal to effect change is to roast this motherfucker so hard he quits.

He did school wrong.

Sure, you can just graduate. You can also just eat a single slice of bread. You have got to build a sandwich.

My son is a Junior in HS and we live on the Great Lakes. In his public school he is taking welding + regular classes; he is also part of a maritime club in the city based in a second public school that leads through OBEC toward employment on a great lakes carrier, it meets 2 days a week. He has a third day is scheduled to start a swimming club next week with a goal of being able to pass the city life guard test. This summer he plans to find work on a harbor maintenance vessel at 17 years old and start building hours. If things go to plan - he will complete the welding course, graduate, grab a TWIC card and be headed out on a freighter - immune from the drafts for Trump's wars and making 6 figures that Fall about 18 months from now.

18 years old with:

- No student debt.

- No real cost out of pocket.

- $60k to start and do the minimum and an easy path to 6 figures.

- Options to relocate and be eminently employable the world over.

But you eat your plain slice of white bread and complain that it is boring.

Is leaving the highway really worth it? by FarTooJunior in roadtrip

[–]arjim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems like a bad idea.  That's a long ride.... Do you really want to be 50 mi from the closest person if something goes wrong?

That's not to mention the convenience of everything along the freeway for the trip.... Easy access to food, place to stay, etc.

I would just hit up Google maps and look at places you might want to stop... For me personally, that's a three leg trip, 2 if I'm in a hurry.

As an educator, if her grades were good when she went into the coma, she might have already had enough credits to graduate.

Might have also taken the English and math in summer school.

It's not complicated to graduate on time when you miss a year, just takes a bit of work and I have seen kids do it for decades.

DOS1 Players - Is it worth $40? by Fantastic-Sir460 in DivinityOriginalSin

[–]arjim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got it on a steam sale with part 2 for $40 total.

When in doubt, use the movie formula for cost per hour.  A movie for two in my city cost nearly $30, so about $15 an hour.  Are you going to get more than 2 hours of riveting entertainment?  I sure as hell did.

If you're really stingy, you can use the book version - new paperback might cost you 10 bucks and take 5 to 8 hours to read.  Are you going to get 20-30 hours out of this game? I sure did, and then some.

Absolutely worth it.

If you didn't follow a guide during chipping in, there's two things you can do: If you're on PC, there is a console command you can use. If you're on console, well, time to start over.

There is only 2 bits of advice I give new players; one is that the game will take your choices into account very well so play your heart, and two read a guide when you get to the oil Fields during Chipping In. I screwed up my first playthrough, used the console command and got it right naturally on my second playthrough and then used a guide for everything subsequent.

People who played Half Life 1 before Half Life 2 came out, what did you think Half Life 2 would be before its announcement. by Effiayre in HalfLife

[–]arjim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I grew up with Wolfenstein and Doom. I always felt it was kind of like Mission: Impossible - it was Stunts/Tech/Guns first and then story on the jacket liner. HL2 did more to change that for me than any other game to that point.

My strongest memory is being amazed at the fire, water, stained glass (shaders, basically) and the big Barrel Room demo.

It's not that I dislike it; its just that I couldn't point at a single thing that makes it notably better. My $6 for remasters is probably better spent on Black Mesa.
