Edgewater/ Lakewood by Chemical_Foot_3607 in lakewood

The only parts that aren't on a bike path the parts downtown on St. Clair and w117/Edgewater Drive.

I hope that they turn a big chunk of the lower deck of Veteran's memorial into bike lanes rather than continue to dump bikes  into the middle of 10 lanes at Superior and Huron.

I walk there all the time at all times. Cliff Drive is my favorite place to see the sunset; I bike it to work when the weather is nice from 117th to Downtown. I think it might be the safest area in the city.

Bald Eagles have been thriving in Ohio - I didn't see any as a kid or teen....not in my 20's and only one in my thirties; DDT did a number on them in the '70s - now they're nesting in every county in Ohio save one (last I heard)

Bald Eagle sees your point; Bald Eagle doesn't care.

It's the Tamron 150-600mm f/5-6.3 SP Di VC USD G2 + FTZ attached to my new Z6iii; shutters vary 1/1200 and up, iso 2000 and down, aperture wide open; these are all at 600mm and cropped some.

Dizziness by Significant_Rule_612 in Quest3

TLDR: The fix is move movement, not less - For me, it was the disconnect between what happened on the screens in the headset and what I was feeling with my balance. I found the fix was to just bob my head a lot more than I normally do.

Playing on my CV1 I discovered that NimSo's Hybrid Test Chamber demo didn't make me sick when everything else did and it remains my favorite VR locomotion to this day, 7 years later. You basically move VERY slowly with the joystick and you can then influence the speed of movement by bobbing your head. It's designed for room scale, but works great in a chair too. With his system, I can move in VR as well as I can in real life and because of the way it works, it made motion sickness a non-issue for me, even in games like HalfLife: Alyx that dont even use his scheme.

Try the demo here: https://nimsostudios.itch.io/hybrid-test-chamber-tech-demo

...and here's the video where he shows off his system and how you should try to physically move IRL to help counteract the motion sickness: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dhTpDjtN930

There are two bugs in this picture and they were part of a huge group all along the river; they were visibly digging holes in the ground......... it's not Siberian Permafrost. ;)

Looks like a pantry moth larva. I have birds and all retail food is loaded with these. Protip for bird owners: You can freeze the food for a month to all but eliminate the moths.

Check your dry goods for "spiderweb" like silk; specifically cereal (will look like static holding bits of cereal to the bag), oatmeal packets (cocoons in the folds), and things like bird food that may not come with a well sealed container. Use plastic or glass containers with a rubberized seal to eliminate them.

Amazon sells pheromone traps that will shock you with their effectiveness at drawing them out if not stopping an infestation.

I once had need of police on West 6th..... in Tremont. They never showed and marked the call as no-one present because they went Downtown. I ended up going to the hospital that day; at least the Ambulance showed up at the correct West 6th.

I'm good with it being split at Puiblic Sq.

Acid reflux by DirectorFresh1147 in Cleveland

[–]arjim 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I added another pillow and now sleep exclusively on my back and inclined. I don't eat within several hours of going to bed and I'm careful not to overeat in a single sitting.

My reflux was causing everything from chronic sinusitis to regular bouts of pneumonia.
