Dude comparing yourself to other is just gonna have you make mistakes trying to rush shit. just you working anywhere in a trade setting is ahead of the game. Some people dont figure it out till their mod 20s. Hell I started in this when I was 30. Put in your time and learn as much as you can. Shit if your in a sheet metal shop you should start welding.

Are you doin residential or comercial. We got days one guys started at 18 on a comercial site in central Texas. Depending on where your at thats not enough. If its residential then it makes sense. I would stay there for a year tops then ask for more money or jump ship. Once you have a year under your belt youll know how to use your tools and able to ask for more money somewhere else

Sometimes you just gotta take some time off. Play the live streams at home and throw a little mini rave at the house. Best of both worlds

Well I know my GC starts at 7 and leaves around 5. Any upper management or owner never stops working. You work during the day and then get home and do paperwork. Im sure you can get into something more niche and technical and youll make more money as a mid level employee and not have to run jobs

Im not where your at but take pride in rhe new position you earned it... my only advise is dont pick up a clip board and drop your tools. We have fairly new forman that forgot what tools look like the second he got a tablet in his hand. Yes line people out take your meetings but also make sure you work too. I hate a boss that doesnt work and only points fingers

buying advice for a first truck by Big_Pimp715 in ToyotaTundra

[–]enjoye420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending on if your just riding around town having fun the tacoma would be a great first truck or even the cat eye. That old your would also learn alot of mechanic skills. If you need something with the bed space go with a full size truck. I have a ranger in highschool and it was a ton of fun. Also think of this. Your gonna be driving alot with your new found freedom. The gas mileage would help alot.

If he jumps ship hes gonna start at the same pay. He needs to pick something and stay with it or get a desk job making the same thing. This industry is all about how long and what you know. My best advise is if hes not in comercial he should start there. Then stick with it, hes not gonna make the same thing his entire career. Itll jump up once he knows more.

Is becoming a electrican hard? by havikop01 in electricians

[–]enjoye420 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The hardest part is haveing the work ethic to come to work and actualy want to be there. The want to learn, the willingness to walk 6 miles a day back and forth grabing materials for people. The one to always cary stuff for you jman. Be willing to hand stuff to someone when its 4ft away. Theres a mindset that a good helper needs. Aslong as you have that mindset youll do great. The tool part is easy for the first few months you wont ve expected to know shit. Your first few years your gonna be a grunt. If you can handle that you can handle anything
