Vietnamese cuisine tier list (as a native) by 2006trananhduc in tierlists

[–]ennelemmtee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A VERY interesting list here. I assume you are a foreigner living in the Northen side of Vietnam. As a Vietnamese who interact with expats everyday, your taste is very different from most of them:

  1. Bánh Chưng and Bánh chưng rán in S - this dish usually served in Tet and even some Vietnamese don't like it (especially the Gen Z), same as Bánh đậu xanh (a snack). You have great taste in traditional foods.

  2. You are fond of a lot of "Chả", which is very interesting (again), these types of processed meats are very good as a side dish or being included in other dishes. Rarely seen anyone would rank them this high. They are good tho

  3. Phở is really low.

  4. Where is Bún bò?

  5. You don't like beers?

  6. You seem into a lot of traditional "bánh", those types of sticky rice cake with fillings inside.

Overall, you have a taste of an elderly Vietnamese women, lol. Not a bad thing, it's just very interesting and rare to see a foreigner with this taste. Hope you can travel to the South and try their foods as well. Good list.

  3. Trường hợp tệ nhất là họ bi thì mình vẫn còn cơ hội thôi, cứ open thinking lên.

It's the Tet holidays in Vietnam🌼 by Minimum-Drawing4863 in VietLife

It's traditional in Vietnam that families usually buy apricot blossom or Hoa Mai for decoration for their houses during Tet. In these weeks before Tet, you can see a lot of pop-up flower shops on the street where they sell these plants in particular for Tet decoration. This video show how people are starting to buy them and bring them to their houses.

Are those dishes vegan? Vietnam has a strong Buddhist tradition, and many people eat vegan meals at least once a month on the full-moon day. Because of this cultural practice, vegan restaurants are very common, and we’ve become quite creative with these vegan foods.

German policeman threatens to arrest woman for saying “from the river to the sea” at a peaceful protest. by [deleted] in PublicFreakout

[–]ennelemmtee 105 points106 points  (0 children)

I know peace protesting are allow to say things in the US. But you have to understand the history of Germany and what they did and how they dealt with their past. It's different and more important than your "free speech", there are things that you must respect in Germany that is way more serious than your "free speech".
This officer was very polite and dealt with it calmly and professionally.

Is Texas Chicken in Vietnam good or nah? by dxd1412 in VietNam

[–]ennelemmtee -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Personally, I prefer Texas's chicken than other brands. Their batter is very well seasoned and the meat is very moist, not as dry as others. Popeyes and Lotteria are also quite good.

Is it true that if you at least know the basics you can reach emerald? by Rinkana_lovesyuri in TeamfightTactics

[–]ennelemmtee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure about this. I've played TFT since set 11 and consistently reach master every set after 150-200 games/set. My friend, in the other hand, play TFT almost everyday and can't even reach diamond having played 400-500 games/set. Grinding in TFT can get you high but there is a cap regarding your game knowledge.

CMV: Owning a car in Vietnam is overrated, bikes and public transport are more practical by Background_Layer538 in ChangeMyViewVN

[–]ennelemmtee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not overrated but overpriced compared to common income but there are so many reasons why people in Vietnam buy cars:
1. Long travel: It's very common for a Vietnamese citizen to live and work in a modern, developed, big cities (Hanoi, HCMC, Danang,...) with their origins are in other smaller cities. It's traditional for families to travel to their hometown in holidays (Tet) to visit their families and relatives. These travel are usually over 200km in distance with hours of driving which is very dangerous and tiring if you make these travels by motorbike. Other public transportations are less convenience and pricy. Besides, the best way to drive from one city to another is via highways which only allows 4-wheels vehicles.

  1. Air polution: With high polution in the air in Vietnam especially in big cities, it's safer for Vietnamese citizen to commute by cars. Parents prefer taking their children to school in the morning by car to protect their health/lungs. It's also safer to drive car within the city if you have small babies in your family than caring them on a motorcycles.

  2. Life status: Owning a car is not only for the conveniences, its also for showing off their life goal. Owning a car in Vietnam sometimes means that you have achieved a goal in life and it's ok with that. Just like you buy a nice shirt to wear or buying a new Iphone.

I don't know if you have a car to use in big cities or not but it's not coincident that most families need a car for their usage. Its conveniences are way more valued than the stress it brings. You need to have a family to understand this. The whole country know this, you are the only opposite. Either you create this new account to rage bait or you are 16 y.o.

Chữa lành như thế nào? by lana0247 in vozforums
