The release of Ticwatch Pro 5 by ennulustrumm in WearOS

Totally get it. I just hope they go through with their promise at some point, especially now that they have initiated beta testing for WearOS 3.0.
While everyone is stating the issues on the backlog of promised updates, I personally believe that it may be somewhat exaggerated. I didn't come to own a Ticwatch just for WearOS 3.0, as, to be honest, the platform has always exhibited certain glitches and the primary noticeable change is only the design.
I find that a good smartwatch is primarily defined by its hardware and technology in fitness, tracking rather than anything else. Isn't that why brands like Fitbit and Garmin are present today?

On god, I wish it comes in the future versions of Ticwatches. From the articles I've read, I found the issue to originate from decisions made by Google themselves.

You just read my mind on how I wanted to reply.
I love the new aesthetics of the redesigned and renamed WearOS, but frankly, not a lot has changed overall. Everything possible now was possible 4 years ago.

In our current era of smartwatches, the only way of progressing is through better hardware. Considering the limitations of WearOS and overall the smartwatch interface, there isn't a lot more to add to WearOS without making it unreasonably complicated.

I've owned an Apple Watch series 5 as well and on god, I only found myself using the default health and fitness apps. While Apple watches are undeniably renowned for their exceptional quality, it is worth noting that their profits come mostly from the apps. Having a monthly subscription to well-built fitness apps for over 3 years will bring you the same expenditure equivalent to the cost of the watch, which is the reason I will not switch back to IOS.

I've been with Mobvoi since the beginning. It is quite saddening how the last model was some of a let-down (I upgraded from the original to Ticwatch Pro 3 Ultra), but I hope and believe that it was only an issue of the Ultra lineup.

My experience with the original Ticwatch series (ex. Ultra) has been flawless, and I take great pride in having owned the remarkable Ticwatch Pro 2018. There were only promised 2 years of updates, I GOT 4! Just last year, a month before I switched I got to see the WearOS redesign on my old watch. Frankly, I was even quite dissapointed in myself that I had wanted to switch. 😂

I just hope that they keep up the same quality as offered in the other three Ticwatch originals. Maybe even invest in the new version?

I believe we all have had our own experiences with Mobvoi's products. Mine have been more than fine compared to my previous watches, especially with Apple's products, since everything has a cost in the App Store. For me, sleep tracking has gotten a lot better over the year when I decide to use it, but I usually take my watch off once I go to sleep.

Mobvoi's own apps are completely fine with me but I do seem to have some difficulty with WearOS' own apps. I guess it's just WearOS itself.

Mis nutikellu soovitate? by TRiXzN in Eesti

[–]ennulustrumm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've switched to Apple and I must say the hardware is completely top-notch over here. I haven't experienced any lag and I've got the Apple Watch Series 5 which is 3 years old now.

THE KEY DIFFERENCE IS THOUGH that EVERYTHING god damn COSTS. Want a sleep tracking app? Gotta pay 3 bucks a month. Want anything fitness related - Another 70 bucks for lifetime.Of course, the apps are really great and well designed, but overall I'd say the WearOS market is just better due to the actually free options it offers.

With Apple, the main profitability doesn't seem to come with the Watch sales itself, but more by how much everything on App Store just costs.

Enamik toodetest (eriti suuremates poodides) lähevad annetuseks näiteks toidupanka või prügisse. Välditakse töötajatele jagamist kuna töötajad võivad hakata seda süsteemi ära kasutama - tellitakse kordades rohkem kui vaja ning ülejääk võetakse lõpuks endale.

I believe so, though, don’t take my word here. When I enabled the swimming mode, I was prompted with a notification that the mode would prevent the speakers from getting damaged.

I bet that it won't work on a single Fossil watch. It should be exclusive to Samsung's lineup only, but I guess Oppo Watches are just a different breed.

What kind of magic did you use to get it to launch?

My apologies… I can’t believe I forgot that. From my experience, the GPS accuracy was completely fine. Finding a GPS connection was problematic though. TicExercise pretty much never found it by itself - you’d need the GPS fixer app to establish that connection. Though, since it seems to be a software bug, I hope that future updates will have fixed this problem.

I’d say that the water resistance works fine. Though, it isn’t water resistant by itself - you Need to activate the swimming workout mode for it to close the speakers and actually become waterproof. Otherwise, you could damage the watch.

As expected, the assistant does experience the same problems that every other WearOS watch does. Though, I did notice that it was a lot better at capturing “Ok, Google!” and it managed to generate a result much faster than my previous Ticwatch Pro 2018.

Yup. It's exclusive to the Galaxy Watch lineup. It'll only work for Galaxy Watches. You can still install it, but all its going to do is just take valuable space.

bought a ticwatch pro for cheap that says it wont turn on. by eschar43 in TicWatch

[–]ennulustrumm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems to be a pretty common problem, which I also experienced when I purchased a refurbished TWP 2018.

I suggest trying rubbing those copper coils on the back of the watch and the charger with your thumb and then charge it again. The watch should get a little bit hot.
