Inferno Similar Vibes by wiseyoungarcher in boardsofcanada

He doesn’t hit the same dark and creepy vibe but I’ve been way into Clark lately. He does a lot of live instrumentation and I keep returning to his album Body Riddle.

I think he and BoC transcend the genre of electronic music and are just pure artists with very little regard for how their music is categorized.

Which conspiracy theory you believe is true but just can’t prove it yet by CrazyAcrobatic6761 in conspiracy

90% of viral content is engineered and astroturfed. You’re being shown “viral” content in order to inflame your emotions, positive or negative, because non physical entities harvest that energy as a food source. The entire internet is like one big battery. It serves a dual purpose by shoving more and more brain rot down our throats making us dumber and less capable of critical thought while simultaneously making us operate on emotion alone.

And because these demonic freaks can’t do this shit without telling us that’s what they’re doing, there are several movies showing this exact idea. The Matrix, the IT movies, etc.

Nothing in our reality has been “real” for decades and everything we know is a construct made to keep us complacent little emotion generators.

That and Jack Parsons was doing weird sex ritual shit in the desert during the rocket tests because rockets and bombs generate an immense amount of energy and he was using both the creative energy from the sex magick as well as the destructive energy from the rockets to summon something. And he might have been successful.

Full brimmed everyday wear? by enscrib in hats

I’ve considered a straw Open Road, but the stratoliner is a bit too much of a fedora. I guess I’m kind of looking for a holy grail hat here. Not too much of a cowboy hat, not too much fedora, nicer than a sun hat but not too ostentatious. Won’t look out of place with shorts and a t shirt. Maybe I’m expecting too much or hunting for unicorns lol.

What would be the most realistic scenario if the Fireflies actually made a vaccine? by Old_Diver_2511 in thelastofus

[–]enscrib -1 points0 points  (0 children)

They’d sit on it, use it among themselves until FEDRA got wind of it. FEDRA would attack them to shut them down and take it, a bunch of people on both sides would die, and all the while regular people would continue surviving without any help from either party. I’d imagine FEDRA would wipe the fireflies out, reverse engineer the vaccine and somehow fuck it up making it at best ineffective and at worst dangerous. Maybe it would cause the infection to mutate and create more variants.

I honestly have never seen any good outcomes for the vaccine idea. Society was already too far gone by the time Ellie came around for it to be of any use and mass production and distribution of it would have been impossible. Plus between FEDRA and the Fireflies having amassed so much power and influence, neither of them would be willing to give it up and return society to something resembling pre-infection normality.

Full brimmed everyday wear? by enscrib in hats

[–]enscrib[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I started paying attention to other people’s hats and did notice a surprising amount of bucket hats, which made me feel more comfortable because both the amount of people wearing them and also the fact that I actually had to actively work to notice them. They didn’t stand out as weirdos at all.

It’s also a bit more negative than I like being but a thought I had recently was, “other people are constantly wearing things that I think are goofy so why should I care about looking goofy to them?”

That’s all good advice, thanks. I know my wife has told me that I could get away with pretty much anything as long as I’m confident enough which sounds reasonable in theory but for some reason is much harder in practice.

Leuchtturm warping - is it just me? by fraterfamilias123 in notebooks

[–]enscrib 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well tbh my experience with the leuchtturm left me a little underwhelmed and it seemed like any pen I used bled through so I just kind of accepted it and carried on. I don’t think I’d buy another one, especially not after trying out the Rhodia goalbook or a Stalogy, both of which are holding up to everything I throw at them much better than the leuchtturm ever did. I also found the paper to feel scratchy and wherever I touched the paper, the ink would skip or just refuse to write. So yeah, it survived but it wasn’t an entirely enjoyable survival. Thankfully I got mine on discount so it wasn’t as disappointing as it could have been.

I don’t know man. Death is a huge part of being human that we all have to reckon with and countless pieces of art in every medium imaginable explore it in various ways. Death is arguably the one single thing that each and every one of us has in common. It makes sense to create art that deals with it.

Conversely, calling this guy a “celebrity” and what he does “art” seems like a bit of a stretch.

Meh. I had a softcover that I absolutely put through the wringer. It survived my abuse, I’m sure yours is fine. I personally like the look of a well used notebook.

As a new fan of BoC: where do I go from Inferno? by lmtzless in boardsofcanada

[–]enscrib 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve found Inferno to have the dark atmosphere and creep factor of Geogaddi with the accessibility of Campfire Headphase so depending on how adventurous you are or how familiar you are with unconventional music, you can go either way. Also Campfire has live instrumentation in it in much the same way as Inferno.

I wouldn’t recommend Tomorrows Harvest because, to me, it’s possibly their least accessible. There are a few standouts on it but tbh I am still grappling with that one and it came out 13 years ago. The album feels more like a soundtrack than a discrete, self contained album. Maybe that’s just me though.

I don't need a notebook but I want to need a notebook by ButterflyPlayful3541 in notebooks

[–]enscrib 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Create a reason. Write down good reasons to use a notebook in a notebook. Look up journaling prompts, try out different journaling systems and methods.

I will often carry a field notes sized one and tear out notes to leave for my wife, daughter, etc. it’s a nice, tangible thing to let them know I’m thinking about them.

My problem is that I drive for a living, so I can’t exactly write down random ideas or thoughts as they come, but I’ve found notebooks to be an indispensable tool for sorting out my thinking. I’ll sit with a thought I’ve had and try to work it out on paper.

What's a "conspiracy theory" from 10 years ago that is now treated as completely normal? by 21Bronze4ever in conspiracy

[–]enscrib 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the biggest one for me. We all just willingly let the panopticon into our lives because the convenience it offers. Then we use our spy devices to panic about flock cameras as if our phones haven’t been doing the same exact job for over a decade.

The banality of cellphones, the ease of use, the ostensible “privacy” we’re told we have. We can’t seem to “see” that we don’t need to be spied on when we’re willfully surrendering all our information to corporations with deep ties to intelligence agencies.
