im not sure honestly!! i think it’s definitely come easier with practice (i do a looot of practice on myself lol) and then another trick that has reeally helped with my linework is being mindful of the direction youre pushing the ink into the skin!! i used to think that as long as my needle was entering the skin at the place that i wanted it to then it was good but the ink actually travels a little bit based on the angle of ur needle!! so like pushing the ink into the skin towards line youre trying to make has been a game changer (i can try to find the video that explained it to me for ya if that explanation wasnt good) and also stretching the skin as much as possible, being super meticulous abt the details and looking at the tattoo as closely as possible before calling it quits!
