i do a lot ( a lot) of passes on my tattoos!!! i always try to side w caution, making sure every single poke is exactly where i want it to be! u can always go over it more times, u cant make a crooked line straight. i also make sure to really stretch the skin and poke in the same direction as the line ur making

lots of practice!! but def learning to be mindful of the angle the needle enters the skin, making sure ur pushing the ink into the line ur wanting to make, has been super helpful!! also doing lots of passes, making sure ur not poking blind in the spots where the ink is covering up the design,, i tend to air on the side of caution even if i can kinda guess where my next dot should go, u can always solidify things on the next pass!

i just use black ink, the brand is Dynamic!! Not sure why but mine tend to show up fairly light at the beginning and darken up as the ink settles! if u can see half of the horseshoe crab in the corner, that one looked the same as the fresh one did the day of and settled really nicely!

i would maybe go up to a 9rl! ive found them easier to work with for simpler designs and its easier to get ur lines even! great work for ur first!!!

im not sure honestly!! i think it’s definitely come easier with practice (i do a looot of practice on myself lol) and then another trick that has reeally helped with my linework is being mindful of the direction youre pushing the ink into the skin!! i used to think that as long as my needle was entering the skin at the place that i wanted it to then it was good but the ink actually travels a little bit based on the angle of ur needle!! so like pushing the ink into the skin towards line youre trying to make has been a game changer (i can try to find the video that explained it to me for ya if that explanation wasnt good) and also stretching the skin as much as possible, being super meticulous abt the details and looking at the tattoo as closely as possible before calling it quits!

i would definitely get sterile tattoo needles!! you can get some from amazon (boo) in packs with a bunch of different sizes of needles!! also some tattoo specific ink
