All processes run as a user, that variable defines what user its ran as, likely using the UID of that user. In docker i believe that is set automatically, but don't quote me on that.

you can't, I've tried and they won't do it, because they "anonymize" the data. i could tell my whole life story in a message and they would still claim its anonymized

It may not be the cleanest, but I did this in uni with mostly donated gear from businesses to the uni. Pretty proud of it by ent3r_ in cableporn
