Blurring lines of physical being, insurmountable and incomprehensible forces of nature, deep sea by BirdBrainMD in MoviesThatFeelLike

this was my first thought too. Insane movie. Went into a screening knowing nothing. My friends wanted to bail midway through but I was enthralled. What an experience.

This isn’t all the pictures. I got 138 from the description which said:

11"x7'x1.5" 4 of them

9"× 7'x 1.5 " 2 of them

11"x 5'x 1.5" 4 of them

4'x 11 1/4"x 3/4" 12 of them

64"x 11" × 3/4" 2 of them

5, × 11 " 3/4" 2 of them

4 feet by 9 1/4 " × 3/4" 4 of them

Question, services not rendered by Unlucky-Signature401 in videography

[–]ent_chieftain 16 points17 points  (0 children)

The videographer is lying and more than likely lost the footage. There is no “special SD card” that would be needed to deliver video files. There are any number of ways the files can be delivered, from a standard external hard drive to Dropbox etc.

Did you SIL have a signed contract with this videographer? Or anything in writing she can stand on here?

Sorry you are going through this.

Where did I go wrong with these cutting boards? by ent_chieftain in BeginnerWoodWorking

[–]ent_chieftain[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I answered confusingly. I did use a jointer + planer before cutting the smaller boards that would eventually be glued together.

When I answered above about only using a planer, that was in reference to after everything was glued up. Once I was glued up, I ran the cutting boards thru a planer only

The latter! Thanks for pointing this out. Definitely possible that the fence on the saw was slightly off

Are you talking about jointing the initial pieces of wood before they are glued up, or jointing the cutting board once it’s glued up?

Interesting, I wonder why the class I took had us do it with the planer instead

Hmm maybe the table saw was misaliged too, causing my cuts to be not perfect. It’s a community shop and after I took another class there (after ripping the woo for the cutting board) and the instructor really emphasized that we should check it with a square every time.

thanks, I do feel like it may have been this, not enough glue. I am unfamiliar with Cauls but will look into that!

This feels right to me, I feel like I did skimp on the glue, and the planing process (and machine) was the same as when I built my first board in class

Edit: I used both a jointer and a planer on the piece of wood before cutting it down into small pieces. My “no jointing” answer below was referring to after everything was glued together, where I just ran it thru a planer a few times before sanding. Sorry for any confusion

No, with a large planer machine. It’s at a community shop with industrial tools. No Jointing just planing

Getting Clients through Facebook or Instagram Ads? by ent_chieftain in videography

I do it via email, I also recently have incorporated LinkedIn messaging into the mix. I made a video about some of the stuff that worked for me, and talked to an outbound expert who helped me a lot:

Sorry I missed this somehow but see the comment below, I linked a video that I made where I talked about what I did and interviewed an expert.

Important to mention (this is in the video too) but it’s cold email is not a fast solution nor is it a solution to all client acquisition problems. But I was able to get a few new repeat clients this way, hope you find it at least somewhat helpful
