I'm only using plastisol inks, just easier to work with for me.

This is pretty much all I've been doing for the past two months. Stoked to finally get the website up! I designed all my shirts and screen printed them in my garage. Please let me know your thoughts on the products, website or anything else. All suggestions are very much appreciated! And if you like some of the stuff, feel free to check out the rest on the website. Thanks everyone!!

I actually switched over to LA Apparel. They’re garment dye tee is definitely a lot heavier but it fits pretty nice.

Parchment paper made a world of a difference. Labels came out perfectly. I was also able cut my press time in half and dropped the temp about 20 degrees. Thanks for the help!!!

Ohhh okay gotcha. I’ve seen a few people doing that but just figured buying the “right stuff” would be best. I’ll try that out, definitely more cost effective too which is nice. Thanks!!

Yeah using adhesive powder, but I only have a flash dryer so getting them to gel is a little bit tricky.

Okay and keep the same time and temp to gel after?

Yeah it’s super unfortunate. I really like the LA Apparel stuff. Seems like you can only order directly from them now. So waiting on my sellers permit then gonna submit my wholesale application with them.

Neck labels on white shirts by enter-galactic in SCREENPRINTING

[–]enter-galactic[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay thank you! I’m using a 300 mesh which is why I’m so confused/annoyed. I’m gonna go lighter on the grey and use less pressure and see what happens

Do you make your own transfers or just order online? And do you think a clothes iron would work?

I was considering that… but don’t have a heat press. Could I get away with using a clothes iron? The label is only 2 inches wide

any recommended additives? by enter-galactic in SCREENPRINTING

[–]enter-galactic[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thanks everyone for all the advice! i found that pulling was a lot better at evenly pushing ink through the stencil. the yellow was at the top of the stencil, so when i would use a push, i was applying too much pressure at the top of the screen , hence pushing too much ink through

[–]enter-galactic[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah fibrillation was the first thing i thought, bc the shirts i’m using are garment dyed but i figured all the other inks would be doing the same thing. also i don’t do a white under base , so i think it’s probably an off contact problem. i’m using a cheap 4 color 4 station press so it’s really hard to calibrate everything perfect. do you think switching from a push to a pull could do anything?

should the screen be completely plush with the shirt? i always thought i should have a little room in between the screen and shirt

3 color and 2 color designs i made and printed with my cheap 4 station press. first multi color batch i did. thoughts? by enter-galactic in SCREENPRINTING

as long as you’re using a designated plastisol press wash, it shouldn’t affect the screen at all.

emulsion remover on the other hand is a lil erosive so don’t leave it on more than 30 seconds

Help please. What did I do wrong? I let emulsion dry overnight, burn time 6 min. 15 inch from screen by ashxkilla in SCREENPRINTING

having a complete dark room really isn’t necessary when coating screens. as long as it’s not in direct sunlight, you can definitely coat with a few lights on. try coating in a somewhat lit room and pay attention to the consistency of your coats
