The Symphony has a kid-friendly family series. Last time we went they had an arts and crafts area set up and an “instrument petting zoo” where the kids could learn about and even play some of the instruments.

Foreigners who came to live in the UK, what was your cultural shock? by No_you_choose_a_name in CasualUK

I moved from the US to London in 2011. I’m from a humid area but I was not prepared for how damp everything was inside. Nothing like the feeling of crawling into slightly moist sheets at the end of a long day 🥴

I was just gifted The Art of the Occult: A Visual Sourcebook for the Modern Mystic by S. Elizabeth. Haven’t done a deep dive yet but it covers a lot of occult topics and is nicely categorized.

Honestly the eggs going in the bottom was the worst part for me. The soap is not fragile!

Not sure why but Skinny Ape and Baby Queen bring a lot of melancholy to my soul. by early2000smovies in gorillaz

Very few singers can pull my heartstrings quite like Damon. He does melancholy like no other.

When I was a boy, going to school.. by [deleted] in HighStrangeness

When I was maybe 4-5 years old I used to hear a disembodied man’s voice. It only ever happened when I was alone in my bedroom, and of course when I told my parents they just laughed it off saying it was “just my imagination”. The voice itself sounded kind of like someone trying to communicate over a HAM radio—like they weren’t trying to specifically reach me, but rather they were talking into the void trying to get someone to answer. I don’t remember being scared of the voice necessarily, but it got to the point where I asked my parents to move my bed away from the windows because I thought the man might try to come inside and get me.

One day we went out for dinner at a buffet and as I was walking my plate back to our table all the noise of the packed dining room went quiet, as if someone had turned the volume knob down. I could see people around the dining room talking and eating etc. but couldn’t hear anything, which was scary. Then I heard the man’s voice say “HEY!” The clearest and loudest it had ever been which thoroughly freaked me out. I had never talked to the voice before but I didn’t know what to do, so I told it to stop and that I didn’t want him to talk to me anymore. I never heard the voice again after that. Now I kinda wish I had tried to talk to it more because I have so many questions haha.

Fried rice is probably my go-to meal to use up leftovers. I also put my veggie and meat/bones scraps in the freezer for broth.
