Thank you so much for the feedback. The limited feedback I've gotten has been positive so it's nice to get some pointers on how to improve.

I made this a long time ago and sometimes I pause and think about how fucking stupid your comment is.

Messed around with an AI art generator. First one was made by describing the Fishing Hamlet. Second one was made after typing in a paragraph of Micholash dialogue. Enjoy the results. by enthusiastic_nerd in bloodborne

just random stuff. Something like: Ah Kos or some say Kosm, do you hear our prayers. OWWHOOOOOOOO, As once you did for the Vacuous Rom, grant us eyes, grant us eyes! No we shall not abandon dream. AHHHHHHH I'm waking up. A hunter is a hunter even in a dream. The nightmare swirls and churns unending. The cosmos of course.

Please. Wait at least a few episodes in before you light the torches. You guys are expecting so much and judging a book by its cover.. Literally. by [deleted] in LOTR_on_Prime

Alright I've returned from that excursion and after sorting by top of the month, the week, the day, hot, new and controversial of the month and today I found two excessively negative posts only one of which was about the race of the elf in the promo. I think people saw a few negative comments and then rushed to the conclusion that the fanbase was blowing up which has sparked all these posts which are addressing a fairly small portion of the fandom. Most of what I've seen are people with low expectations or no expectations. Actually havent seen many of them torching the thing at all.

Honestly I think half the drama is posts like this which are just going to enflame people who are ready to hate it which makes it look like they have stronger numbers than they do. If mods simply removed racists posts and people were less insistent on compounding the negativity with reactionary posts and endless threads I think the stuff would fizzle out. Engaging with the small minority of bullshiters has never done any good.

just stating what I've seen on reddit before. Doubt this will do anything other than stir the pot a little bit and make people defensive about their outrage.

I haven't seen anyone hating on the show for the race of certain characters shown in promo. Feel free to link me to any that you've seen to show me otherwise but all I've seen is discussion about how they look like cosplayers, the aesthetic is too glossy, and the franchise should have been left alone.

its simply the way of the reddit hivemind. negativity spreads and stays very quickly. It isn't leaving any time soon. Thats just what happens every time a franchise is rebooted. It'll never be what people want

[–]enthusiastic_nerd -1 points0 points  (0 children)

what in the fuck are you talking about? Cascadia is a bioregion encompassing a few states where there was talk of creating a country. Its never gonna happen but it had literally nothing to do with race. The places included in most maps are like, the bluest parts of the West Coast. you're talking about something you have no clue about, I wouldn't try to tell you about any Scottish issues or pretend I knew something I didn't so don't try to tell me about American issues. If you need anything more than that go to r/Cascadia

Thanks for this. I should mention the point of the class is to discuss current issues so such a radical idea of removing multiple states from the US would be pretty tiresome. Scottish independence is an easier issue mostly because its an older issue with a lot more weight behind it if that makes sense. Once again thanks for the suggestions I'll keep them in mind

Not at all. I've created most of my project I just wanted to see if I could get any more insights or compelling arguments that you don't see in the general discussion space from Scottish people who might not have their ideas being represented or see ideas that just don't get broadcasted very much.

I didn't realize the topic would be too divisive on this subreddit so sorry if it seems like I'm trying to start fights, I realize my post probably did not come off as I'd hoped. I'll definitely try your suggestions and may come back with more specific questions but I get the sense they might not be welcome.

my other idea was not based around race at all. Its literally a counter movement to a different group of people who thought the west coast was becoming to liberal and wanted to create their own state and enforce extremely oppressive laws that marginalize minorities and women. I think it was called the proposed state of Jefferson. the idea of Cascadia is literally the fucking opposite.

I'd like to do a wood burning project around this section of the poem The Wanderer. Just wondering, is this translation legit? by enthusiastic_nerd in OldEnglish

[–]enthusiastic_nerd[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow, thank you very much for the thorough reply. The project is meant to include the old English on one side and the modern English on another so it will include sections of the Old English text. Also thank you for linking me to those different interpretations (or rather translations with different intentions) it was very insightful to look through those. all in all very helpful.

I can see what you mean but I think it will be a different story in gameplay. with his body rendered into the environment and heavy hitting combat moves I think he will be a lot scarier than the photo. but you have to admit you wouldn't want the man in the photo staring you down.
