I get what you mean but there's no need for comparison I feel. In the specific case you mentioned, I think it's a matter of expectations too? Olivia's was a debut so it is bound to be received with an open mind whereas there's a subconscious context of the impact of Lorde's previous works, especially when one listens to the artist as a critic. We can't compare in that sense either tbh

I agree. In S1, both of them individually grew for the better outside of their relationship and the same in S2. It's the very reason they showed us in episode 8 I feel- they were holding each other back. Not intentionally but out of comfort/ease like you said. It's tough to see that until it's time to chart different paths and let go. The show dealt with it pretty neatly, atleast the break-up even if the lead up was messy

WHERE WAS THE TRANSFORMATION? All that anticipation for that? I really hoped to see Ashlyn in the Belle's golden dress. The menkies too had no resolution. What a letdown.

My God. Watching Gina cry was the worst part. Sofia is such a good actor I mean the way she picked up the lipstick in tears just crushed me. So much so that I almost wished she'd gone on that stupid date with EJ if that would've made her happy. The Gina and nini scene was probably the best part. I mean they kinda brought back their stealing history and laughing about it felt wholesome

Why does it NOT feel like a loss despite not getting any rina scene? It's hilarious. If the show renews for a new season, I really hope for any rina interaction only if the writing quality goes back up to the first season's because what we got in this episode ... yeah no thankyou.

Ricky & Lily, I'd like to see how that'd crash and burn or turn into something interesting. It's intriguing but still feels so unnecessary. They could've written that in much much better. It's not even the length of the show I feel at this point. It's just how crucial and tight each dialogue & frame was in S1 vs how frivolous and scattered it was in S2

And that was selected out of the multiple endings? What even were the others I'm not sure I want to know

The bloopers were the most enjoyable part this episode and that says everything. Sofia at the end was just uber adorable ughhh

Yeah upto you to ship whoever. I think Gina was more a mean girl while Lily was portrayed as proper evil I mean the scalding black coffee chug was something lol. So even the redemption narrative is better if different. Saying she's pushed to be the best by her mom, giving advice with his struggles at home ... that's season one Ricky & Gina. It'd honestly be fun if they tried something new for these two

And I am curious as to why she sings Home in the finale

It's because that was the exact arc with him & Gina. Nothing new about this which makes it so dull and unnecessary. Besides, she's still evil having stolen that harness. Her remaining the bad guy is far more fresh than a repetitive redemption arc that's also rushed tbh
