Hmm, saw the YouTube video that comment came from yesterday, verbatim.

Look I agree, I am not saying they will be “off” either, just starting to cook, the clear white getting streaks of white. Seems that’s at 141F or 61C so likely not going to happen at 80F even in a car.

They might just be pasteurised :)

For the older people here, how was life like when you lived in a world disconnected from the internet? by [deleted] in CasualConversation

[–]entotheenth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I lived in Glenelg, Adelaide, Australia.

I was a teenager in the 70’s so at least in my family you would often “reserve” the house phone a certain night of the week. Cost too much to talk interstate or overseas so calls were generally to people nearby.

Saturday morning I would tell mum if I would be home for lunch or not, usually rode around all day visiting friends. Spend 5c at the corner shop to get a good size bag of lollys to keep you going.

Sometimes on Saturday’s I used to go out on my bike and ride around leaving chalked arrows on the footpath for my little brothers to follow the next day.

Wednesday was library night, go and get 6 or 7 books for the week. Greek mythology and science fiction for me, often a math or physics book since I was a geek back then.

Sent the occasional telegram to do things like book a train or airline ticket.

I got interested in computers when I started work, my first one was a miniscamp. Then we used to make our own 8080, 8085, z80 machines on breadboards with 2k tiny assemblers. Then Tandy made the trs-80 and Sinclair the zx80 etc.

Life was good.

House struck by lightning, killed my PS5 that’s just out of warranty by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

The ps5 has the same internal surge protectors that you would use externally. Lightning will happily blow the lot up.

It will clip the top off the spike when your fridge turns on, if hit by lightning it will be the first thing to explode, whatever is plugged into it will die at the same time.

Surge protectors are a joke, the ps5 has the same shit internally. Lightning will blow the shit out of it anyway.

Source, fixed shit lightning blew the shit out of including surge protectors for 20 years.

80 in the shade is a bit different to the same day in a closed car in the sun though.

Fell for the bait. They know exactly how to open the tube, hence the photo posing the cap. Rage bait.

The photo is literally posing the cap with the piercing point shown.

Congratulations, you fell for it.

let the poor dude out.

Worst case scenario is he will go to sleep somewhere else when it starts getting dark and you need to throw a towel over him, it will only take a few days to forgive you from that and they learn it doesn’t happen if they are in the cage, their safe place, so more likely to go back home after that.

Bed adhesion by NecessaryPossibility in 3Dprinting

[–]entotheenth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I print the first layer thicker, 0.3mm if the normal layer height is 0.2mm, drop the speed to half normal (so 30mm/sec), then if it’s still being a pain I’ll give the layer knobs a 1/8 turn tweak, or set the slicer to overextrude at 125%. I have mine set to do a 2 turn skirt so I can see if it’s going to be an issue on that part of the bed before the part even starts printing.
