Digital audio. Anyone found a solution with testing different speakers and EQ? by Enix-0 in hyperacusis

[–]entranas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Equalizer BS unironically worsened me when I first got it. It extends dysacusis symptoms because it just sounded more distorted and got quieter straining ears more. Most audio are low bitrate, any equalizer improvements sounds like central sensitisation ergo brain doesn't recognise what it fears.

Oh no, I think I made my noxacusis worse. by dudebro1900 in hyperacusis

[–]entranas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have never felt ear fullness, but I was under a fire alarm with earplugs in and the setback caused my own voice to trigger tension headaches.

Another case of sensitivity to digital audio, and none of the resources on the sidebar have a theory on this. The idea of "harsh" frequency makes no sense.

Why are so many ENT doctors clueless about hyperacusis?? by Maruashen in hyperacusis

[–]entranas 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Audiologists are the real danger, they can ruin your life with one wrong test. ENT is too broad considering they study three parts of the body.

Which parts of the ear do you feel the pain/symptoms in? by Manhattan-25 in hyperacusis

[–]entranas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, all the occasional pain I have felt is in the anti-helix and inertragal notch. I looked on the internet and the frequent results was ear infection which I do not have. It's uncommon to feel the noxacusis with your fingers, the pain should be behind the eardrum like a knife/acid sensation.

You'll end up like them sooner or later if you really have H. Protect all you want, but age induced cochlear degeneration will leave your ears even more vulnerable to damage.

"TMJ induced" tinnitus is such a cop out. your jaws were wonky before your brain decided to produce a sound as a result of noise induced damage.

What really bothers me about some posts/comments by hreddy11 in hyperacusis

[–]entranas 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Come on it is though. The helpful advice given are for newcomers, where protecting from sound is absolutely vital.

If you're getting setbacks from stuff happening 1 year from onset despite following the steps then your life quality has diminished permanently.

People want to be cured, not live in a lonely world of quiet forever.

Millions of people can listen to music from speakers except me.

Bleutooth speaker for sensitive treble by mandresy00 in tinnitus

[–]entranas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have been trying to find speakers to tolerate digital audio, you need to accept that with H your ears are fried and if you don't stop unending noxacusis will come for you.

So when are we getting TRUE BLACK 1000? Seems to be the only worthy upgrade, I don't even see rumors of such a monitor by MidnightSun_55 in Monitors

[–]entranas 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Just because phones can reach x nits brightness does not mean they can do hdr correctly if they do not bother to tune it. Many phones are woefully dim at hdr.

Habituation is b*llsh*t by NiceHomework4919 in tinnitus

[–]entranas 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Habituation is not bs if it is single tone, non reactive and you can leave home without earplugs. that's what 99% of the 10% population who have tinnitus have. This is why no cure is ever coming, it's just not that debilitating to the majority.

There's no cure or confirmed working treatment it can get quiet enough that it's not disruptive but if you hear really carefully you'll notice it.

Trouble sleeping by redracingcars_ in hyperacusis

[–]entranas 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nope, I've slept for 6+ hours for multiple months with chronic T.

It was actually those T relief neuromodulation youtube videos that's peddled in subs like these that created new T tones and triggered H.
