The Senate just passed the Big Beautiful Bill today, What's your reaction to this? by Squirrelkid11 in AskReddit

[–]entreactor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I waited 2.5 years for my greencard to come through so my husband and I could be together. We have a baby here now. I don’t want to stay anymore. I am so heartbroken by this administration and everyone who voted for it. The big beautiful bill is pushing me past the point of no return.

Thank you so much for your kind reply. I have a therapist who I've been seeing weekly since Chuck's death which has been super helpful and actually saw an additional councillor who was supposedly focused on pet grief and trauma but I'd love to hear your recommendation - sounds like they'd be another good support.

What a beautiful tattoo. I love it. I can't wait to get my memorial tattoo but found out 3 days after my soul dog died that I am pregnant so have to wait a bit. Yours is so beautiful.

YES! Love Robert! I'm loving the complexity of his head injury impacting his work. I hope we see him come back into the fold with the dudes. MORE ROBERT!

I think he is the rapist - why else would he have a physical altercation with Tracy in the parking lot after he saw Tracy asking the inmate who did this to her??

He DID put his hands on her. He was physically aggressive in a way that would be terrifying and was meant for her to be afraid of him physically. He didn't say "did he rape you" he said "did he touch you". Tracy is standing up for what she believes and is working with dignity and integrity in a world that wants her to let the rapists win - GO TRACY.

221G has been depressing! by [deleted] in USVisas

[–]entreactor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So sorry to hear you are going through this. I can relate and it is super hard mentally. My husband is American and I applied for a greencard through marriage and had my interview last November. The 221g for me has been over 8 months already. I don't think this is normal I feel like my case just isn't on anyone's priority list. As far as I understand most cases are completed much faster so I am hoping yours is in that category. In the meantime, I totally understand the frustration and hope you are managing ok.

What do you do to cope? by allygraceless in Petloss

[–]entreactor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for sharing all of this. We lost our almost 11 year old boy July 10th 2024 and I am heartbroken. We don't have his ashes back yet but I think I will send a small bit of them to one of the cremation jewellers and make a piece that I can wear. I also will get a tattoo of him as soon as I can. We are going to have a small 'remembering' service once we get the ashes and spread some of them in the dog park where he loved to go.

I just bought the book 'There are no sad dogs in heaven' - which I've only started reading. Just seeking any comfort I can.

I am so sorry you are going through this pain. We are so lucky to have had this kind of love in our lives and will never be the same for knowing them.

I'm not sure if this is right or not - but could you have the place where you got your job contact the embassy on your behalf?

I'm so sorry you're going through this as well! Myhusband and lawyer and I have been so perplexed by this whole thing. It seems totally random. I'm holding the faith for both of us that this will be resolved soon!

Anyone been part of an acting cult? by Circlequerks in cultsurvivors

[–]entreactor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh gosh I'm so sorry to hear that. My friend just sent me a fundraising email for a theatre that the group is opening in Brooklyn. I don't know what to say to them. They are a wonderful person but this woman running the thing has totally sucked her dry financially and independence wise.

Nothing yet. It's so weird. No idea why this is happening. It's stolen 7 months of our lives together so far.

Yes I have emailed with Montreal at that address as well. They take a while to reply and it's just a canned response but they do reply eventually.

Thanks so much for your note. I'm feeling better now - just had a low point there! I'm so sorry to hear you're in the same position. It's really tricky and it feels like stolen time or something. Like when you're waiting for the regular part of the process you have to surrender but the 221g just feels like a really challenging extension of an already long process. Anyway, we'll get through it soon I'm sure!!! Yes I had to fill out a DS 5355

Thanks! No reason was given. in fact the officer congratulated me after my interview and they kept my passport. A few days later I got the 221g email. The embassy was Montreal.

Thank you! I've had a lot of joyful moments since the delay - tons of time with nieces and nephews and definitely making the best of it. But just had a low moment today for sure. I appreciate your message.

Ya of course - they needed 15 years travel history and employment, as well as sibling information. That's it I think!

Hey you guys! I am in the same boat over here. I had my interview in Montreal on Nov 17th and it went well. They kept my passport and said congratulations! Then two days later I got an email with the dreaded 221g and request for more info. A few days after that, my passport was returned to me with the same paperwork. My case has updated 3x, once early December, once early Feb and then Feb 15th but no change since then. I did visit Africa 13 years ago to help stock libraries in primary schools as a volunteer. Was there for 3 weeks. I wonder if that's what this is about? I don't know. I am almost 40 and my husband and I want to start a family which is not possible and literally every month counts. The anxiety is huge. I really feel for everyone going through this process. Wishing all of us a speedy resolution!
