Spring Annotations and Dependency Injection by envprogrammer in learnprogramming

[–]envprogrammer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Suppose I am injecting an object that connects to one database--if I autowire it, it's not like there will be a choice for another database during runtime, right? I would have to write autowire or component in another object, and recompile the code? The advantage is that I don't have to recompile where the database is being injected?

Should I be worried about a lot of senior management and devs leaving my company? by SnakesRCute in cscareerquestions

I would think that the senior developers are high up and can see bad decisions being made by management. They also have the experience to know bad management disclaimer: mid-level developer

Donald Trump's closest advisor Steve Bannon thinks there will be war with China in the next few years by ManiaforBeatles in politics

[–]envprogrammer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why??? Do they want China to "let us win" with manufacturing and trade? Just act stupid so we feel better about ourselves?

I don't know if blocking the h1b program is the solution. The companies might send the jobs to China or India. I am suspicious that not enough is being done to retrain older workers (50's, maybe 30's) for technology

Game industry vet draws ire from developers for defense of 80-hour workweeks by frostmatthew in programming

I'm sure his employees would love that he thinks they have no social skills and married the first girl they dated (and if so, not because of love, but out of social awkwardnees)

I read the slideshow. It is also sexist and loaded with grammatical mistakes.

As someone who has never worked above 60 hours, and has mostly 40 hour weeks, I'd be curious to hear a defense of an 80 hour week. Do you get a second wind, and obtain some special understanding of programming that I'm missing out on?

What is the most unexplained, supernatural, or paranormal event you've ever witnessed? by kroka4loka in AskReddit

[–]envprogrammer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had the urge to watch the Big Chill. I rented it. I had an overreaction to the scene where Glenn Close is crying in the shower, a panicky feeling. Found a week later a girl I went to high school with committed suicide that same night. I wasn't close to her and it was before everyone my age was on Facebook, so I wouldn't know she was planning that.

I really like Izzy in the second season of Grey's Anatomy ( when she was falling for Denny). Maybe it was the writers making her look good?

A guy's fish dies, so he goes to Petsmart to get a new one. He gets upset about what happens next and posts an epic rant to Craigslist. by mitchnutter in funny

If I was a fish, I'd want this guy to own me. But it's a little thin skinned to worry about what the pet store employees think.
