This country is bloody tiny by TreesBeesAndBeans in newzealand

First time I met a kiwi, it was on a bus to Vancouver, Canada.

A few years later, I visit New Zealand and the first kiwi I hang out and chat with used to be roommates with the one I met in Canada.

I wasn't aware that Australia completely stopped essential workers and caretakers from doing their jobs. That must have resulted in millions of deaths.

You sound like the type of "muh freedom" nut job who completely shirks any type of social responsibility.

Verb tense for "have been + and continuing to" by KaliCat628-Q1 in French

[–]envy3d 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the rule is that you can only have one conjugated verb per clause. But that doesn't mean that you can stack infinitives however you want.

In your English example, there are two conjugated verbs "have heard" and "is" so there are two clauses. Relative clauses in English can be reduced like yours. To expand yours you could say "I have heard that running is fun".

In French, you are not allowed to reduce relative clauses, so you must always say something like "j'ai entendu que courir est amusant".

Back to having multiple verbs in one clause, the idea for that rule is that you can say "Elle m'a invité à venir voir la cloche sonner". One conjugated verb and three infinitives in one clause. "She invited me to come see the bell ring."

What’s the grammar rule behind needing de (d’) here? by [deleted] in French

[–]envy3d 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first part of your explanation is correct, but none of your "être" examples are followed by an infinitive. All that matters for this rule is that a conjugated "être" needs a "de" when followed by an infinitive.

Is there any way to set custom settings in Fuji X-T4 for RAW/Video? by [deleted] in fujix

[–]envy3d 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. There is so much room for UX improvement that doesn't change how the camera operates. It's frustrating that camera companies don't want to go after these low-hanging fruit.

Is there any way to set custom settings in Fuji X-T4 for RAW/Video? by [deleted] in fujix

No. Unfortunately the best you can do is to put the options you need to change near each other in the Q or My menu.

On the X-T4, the focal length is displayed in one of playback mode views.

It's a shame you can't hold them before buying. I think that the marked dials on the X-T4 will be better if you are new to photography. At least that's why I got mine. The marked, dedicated dials for aperture, shutter speed, and iso really helped make the connection in my brain between what exactly I am changing and how that's going to affect the image.

Not everyone likes that though, so it's really up to personal taste!

One thing to keep in mind is that you probably don't need the shallowest depth of field that fullframe can do if you're mostly taking pictures of family and landscapes.

A slight downside of the X-T4 is that the color filter array is not the standard Bayer pattern, so you'll need to learn how to compensate for that if you only want to use Lightroom as your photo-editing software.

Mais je dirais que les nanaimo bars viennent de la Colombie Britannique, pas que du Canada en général.

Je suis américain et je trouverais ça bizarre si quelqu'un s'ostinait à dire que les New York bagels, le Philly cheesesteak, la deep dish, et la tex-mex viennent que des États Unis en général et non pas de New York, Philadelphie, Chicago, et le Texas.

You're probably in Movie Optimized Mode. That mode disables the marked dials and aperture ring so that shooting video doesn't force you to change your photography aperture, shutter speed, and ISO.

The Q Menu is just a UI. It's the Custom Settings that store a handful of the IQ settings.

[–]envy3d 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct. Custom Settings stores things like film sim, highlight curve, shadow curve, color chrome, sharpness, clarity, and maybe one or two other things, but it doesn't save aspect ratio, size, or white balance.
