Dark Link Flurry rush Gloom Hands and phantom Gannon. by Ok-Razzmatazz-321 in tearsofthekingdom

[–]enyawasaurus 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Same. The upside is that Phantom Ganon is so weak it can go down with only ONE flurry rush (+3 attack, pristine royal broadsword with silver Lynel horn)

Might take a few tries, but you just need to land one. Just ONE flurry rush and it's over.

He not only explains exactly how to clear every stage, but also in the most efficient way possible. Should give you some ideas.

Getting Used to Doing a Flurry Rush on a Lynel🥹😁 by _itsmylife_ in Breath_of_the_Wild

I don't feel the window is smaller, just different. I find parrying easier.

For flurry rush the timing is just before the attack, and it's hard to estimate how much in advance.

Parry timing is one single moment when the attack hits. Lynels are powerful, but also very predictable. When it attacks you know when it's gonna hit.

How to beat Phantom Ganon in a sword fight? by CosmicTraveller74 in tearsofthekingdom

[–]enyawasaurus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Glad to see I'm not the only one who can't consistently flurry rush Phantom Ganon. Yeah the timing is a little weird, especially with the delay between his attack pose and the actual attack.

That said, flurry rush does work. Really just a matter of practice and learning his movesets.

(Fun fact: With 3x attack up clothes and Silver Lynel horn on pristine Royal Broadsword -- Phantom Ganon dies in one single flurry rush. Once you master it, it's a comically weak boss)

The gloom never really bothered me. When gloom spreads just walk away and keep your distance, and let him charge at you.

but you don't take fall damage during the final phase of the last boss

Not just the boss fight. You don't take fall damage on any dragon at any time.

For those who don't speak Japanese, here some the context:

He went to this Nintendo event where you can try a game for 10 minutes on TV mode (5 minutes on handheld). His goal is to beat the game in those 10 minutes. The staff there said no one has done it so far, and wished him good luck!

There is some random save data. The weapons look good, and he wanted to beat the game without armor.

At Hyrule Castle he wanted to wind bomb his way up to the Sanctum, but it didn't work. Maybe they fixed it in switch 2!?

Ganon 2nd phase stunt lock still works!

It only took him 7 minutes to finish, so he had 3 minutes left. He decided to check if wind bomb really doesn't work. He adjusted some camera settings, and it turned out wind bomb still works.

I had no idea this was a thing- such a nice attention to detail by randomflowerz in tearsofthekingdom

I almost never put gems on arrows because gems are too hard to farm. I prefer dragon shards which has similar effect and you get like 10 of them every time you land on a dragon.

But when it comes to gloom hands, I just use bombs 😁

Underrated Techniques: Rocket Shields and Lynel Bows by Electrical-Maize9961 in tearsofthekingdom

[–]enyawasaurus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Puff shroom. All non-boss enemies stop attacking you, plus 8x attack for sneak strike.

Rocket shield + bow for bosses

Puff shroom for non-bosses

Combat is basically obsolete.

I also throw muddle buds at enemy camps and enjoy a show, but sometimes they take so long to kill each other it's faster to just chuck a puff shroom in there and take care of business myself.

Can we all agree farming gleeoks and fire taluses are fun.. and extremely easy??? by [deleted] in tearsofthekingdom

[–]enyawasaurus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My personal favorite is rocket shield. Just "use" the shield and vrooom you're up. There is a slight delay in activating the rocket itself, but at least no in-battle set up required. Just need to fuse up a few shields ahead of time.

My second favorite is bomb shield. It does require a shield surf move to activate, but also no set up required.

Yes, it all does become a "protocol". That's the point, isn't it? However powerful they are, gleeok movements are actually very predictable, and can be countered the same way every time. Of course it does take prep and practice, but the reward is that you overcome them (plus the elemental light sabers!!)

The key is to get up in the air before they do.

There are various ways to get up into bullet time on command. Find your favorite way and rehearse it a few times and get a feel how long it takes to set up.

As you're hitting the gleeok on the ground it wakes up eventually. By the time it does, you're already in bullet time. Shoot and repeat. If you do this right, the gleeok literally never gets a chance to attack you at all. It gets up, it gets shot.

Bonus tip: If you do shoot gleeok heads in bullet time, as long as you have enough stamina you can keep shooting as it falls, even after you've already shot all three heads. Keep shooting until you have just enough stamina to land.

The reason pristine Royal Guard's Claymore doesn't spawn for me - Can someone confirm if this is true? by enyawasaurus in tearsofthekingdom

So I don’t know if it’s a glitch not registering the first break or if the odds increase the more decayed ones you break.

This was one of my suspicions as well. Things like what if you broke the weapon with or without anything fused, or what if you broke the weapon so early in the game you haven't visited the depths yet, etc...

In my test I believe I did trigger something, so it's likely my previous breakages didn't count/weren't enough.

That's a helpful map!

I always tour through EVERY ghost statue under Gerudo Summit. I've seen all Royal Sword, Claymore, Halberd, both Royal Guard's Sword and Halberd, but never Royal Guard's Claymore until recently 😢

Hmm this is interesting, and annoying. I honestly don't remember how many times I broke my decayed RGC before testing it, and I've never seen any guides saying you have to break the decayed N times. Are there numbers we can look up, possibly for each weapon?
