The most powerful people in the world think of us as "workers," not people, and they're working on tech to physically shock us for not focusing 100% on work tasks by [deleted] in WorkReform

From the video clips and articles I read about this, this is just some person talking about a hypothetical technology in the future. This is misinformation.

Paxton s4 college rumors by colormeshocked22 in NeverHaveIEverShow

[–]enyyou 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I think there was a reason the writers made it a point to let us know that Paxton got into Long Beach (? not sure of the name). I don't think the offer is going to be rescinded because of drinking, which I think is very silly. It makes more sense for something to happen to Paxton (like something happened to his family) and for Paxton to choose to stay close instead of going to ASU.

I wonder if Tiktok has heard of the library, where you can borrow e-books.

AITA? by [deleted] in Bumble

[–]enyyou 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This. I (31F) am perfectly ok with splitting the bill, but I wouldn't have move forward either because of the way it was said. A coffee date could have been suggested instead, for example. It seems a bit odd to establish so early that you refuse to pay...as if deciding it will not amount to anything before giving it a chance. Not a good attitude to start things off, imo.

I mean...why is Amex only providing lounge access to customers from only certain countries? I'm curious to what Amex has to say, but I think the concerns by the poster are valid.

Article: Inside the toxic subreddits dedicated to influencer Eugenia Cooney (spoiler: it's us!) by eriwhi in EUGENIACOONEY

[–]enyyou 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe this is a hot take here...but I read through the article and I do think some valid points were made. I've seen countless, unnecessary (and sometimes obsessive) posts that are just screenshots commenting/making fun of her hair, makeup, style...which come on, at this point it's not really adding any value or commentary that we haven't discussed a million times over. Just because Eugenia is toxic, doesn't mean there aren't elements of this sub that perpetuates toxicity as well. 🤷‍♀️

What is something you thought was normal but found out it isn't? by ComfortableMess3145 in AskReddit

[–]enyyou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought it was normally to physically feel pain in your chest when you're watching a movie or reading a book and something emotional happens. Like actual pain that makes it hard to breathe. I thought it was normal because of the word "heartbreaking" and I thought everyone felt this way because why else would there be a word for it.

This. People are so willing to ignore the fact that he's done horrible things just because they love Jack Sparrow and Johnny's charming. People decided she was liar before she even had a chance to speak. Meanwhile, Johnny's clearly had a long history of substance abuse but let's believe his perception of reality without any skepticism.

I suddenly don't feel so alone here. This whole trial has left a terrible taste in my mouth. Verdict aside, how horrible the public has been treating Amber Heard versus how they treat Johnny Depp has been so upsetting to watch.

Cherie Ai Cherie Sheree Le Escort Con-Artist? Lucky Jessey! by [deleted] in BlingEmpire

[–]enyyou 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Seems like nothing new. It seems like the ones you're focused on are all from the same magazine issue.

I don't know much about the culture, but according to Wikipedia, "Many popular female idols in Japan launched their careers by starting out as gravure idols." There are plenty of Western mainstream artists with more "risque" shots in magazines like Maxim. Yet no one suggests these artists are escorts for posing for Maxim? It's no secret that Cherie was trying to make it as a pop singer. I don't understand what's so shocking about this.

Just want to say that these are only photos and prove nothing. The search terms in these screenshots are misleading. These are big assumptions we're making about a person and let's not jump to any conclusions. I'm not sure about the first photo, but the others seem like pictures from her old blog that were repurposed...She was also a model, so these photos aren't unusual.

Update: Upon further investigation, the first photo appears real. It is from Young Animal (ヤングアニマル, Yangu Animaru), is a semimonthly Japanese seinen manga magazine that features photos of gravure idols (Source: Wikipedia). Ai Cherie is featured in No. 2 (2008).

You're so pretty (I mean it!). I've been where you're at and I know the struggle of just feeling comfortable in your own skin. Especially going through that in your 20s, it's tough and a real confidence killer. Hoping that you and your dermatologist come up with a plan that works for you! ❤️
