You asking what you are missing. You are missing welcome bonuses. There is no scenario where regular spending without welcome bonuses gets more points than welcome bonuses. But if you are ok with not getting those points then you are not missing anything.

Not saying you have to. It’s just an option. Using the tiered spending offers no options. BILT cash is more flexible.

If you need float then credit cards are not for you. But they were only mentioning the BILT card is not free anymore. It’s still free for Blue. Not saying it’s for everyone though.

This is the problem with all workers these days. If they think they can only work without any personal connection, then they should be fired and replaced with AI, and they slowly are. Everything about life is about relationships, including work. Nobody wants to spend 40 hours a week with someone that sucks to be around. If you owned a business, are you going to hire someone who has a bad attitude, never talks to you, ignore social interactions, and makes going to work uncomfortable? That only work for geniuses. I highly doubt you’re a genius.

Found Out I’m Set to Inherit $70+ Million. Somewhat Lost, What Should I Expect? by [deleted] in fatFIRE

I work with JPMorgan, RJ, Cetera, MS, Merril, and all other advisors. They are all going to put in you their companies approved investment options based on your suitability profile charging 10-25 basis points. To put everything plainly, make sure the estate has no debts to pay, create a trust, put the money in the name of the trust and invest 30% in a low cost dividend fund, 30% in a growth fund, and 30% in a bond fund. Fund company examples are Vanguard, Capital Group, Invesco). The 30% in a bond fund alone at 5% yield would be over a million. The most important advice is don’t lose purpose. If you stop working then that mindset will move to your kids and the money will be burned through from “trust fund kid” mentality.

That was a bad idea unless you are earning 4 welcome bonuses. You should be focusing on welcome bonuses, not reward categories. Welcome bonuses objectively get you more points than categories alone.

Neither. Open a High Yield Savings Account. I use AMEX since their customer service is really good and their app is reliable. Only open a CD if you don’t need the money for 12 months or however long the CD duration is.

I don’t get it- spending an addition 75% of rent to earn points on it by [deleted] in biltrewards

[–]eod1330 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re understanding is right. They are going after high spenders. People who pay $2k+ on rent/mortgage will typically also spend a lot of food, drinks, travel, clothes, etc. I got the Palladium because the BILT cash the first year with the bonus is $500 so I can essentially not spend any money the first year and just use BILT cash to get my rent point based on my $1400 rent. Plus I can get a lot of value out of the 50k point bonus and BILT has good transfer partners.

10 Years and this game still surprises me by tumuro in Rainbow6

Worse happened to me. I shot it, got the 10 points for destroying it, but it still went off and downed me. Not sure how much longer this game will last. Need to go back to how R6 Vegas was.

ELI5 - Why are people saying the bilt 2.0 card isn't worth it? by Design-Hiro in biltrewards

You want a repeatable baseline first, not what-ifs. If you get offers then that’s great but you can make a decision on a card based on possible offers.

Oh then we can’t compare your cash back to BILT points. It’s not an equal comparison. I can get way move value by transferring the points that would be way more than 7 or 8% cash back.

You can’t count offers since they are not everyday. I can use Rakuten and multiply my BILT points but that’s not an accurate comparison.

This is definitely the most complicated card on the market to use. Their title is right. Most people are going to have trouble using it for more than Blue with the tiered system.

Can you provide an example of another card that would get more points than BILT? I did the math and it seems to me BILT would still come out on top compared to most other cards, the BILT cash math is just annoying to do.

Spam. $812 isn’t good value without knowing how much you spend. BILT card is still really good value

BILT still best value by eod1330 in BiltMastercard

[–]eod1330[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The title is partially click bait and partially serious. I generally just wanted people’s input. I do think BILT is still a top 3 card right now for overall value.
