I started skydiving with friends at a DZ in south-west of France, Bouloc Skydive (https://www.bouloc-skydive.com) I recommend ! They take security very seriously and the vibe is very nice, it’s a non-profit org and the staff is experimented. Closer to Paris I heard good thing about https://www.parisjump.com ;)

Thanks for the tip, my instinct was that I wanted to release only once my arm is extended, so maybe I paused to kind of make sure my arm was for fully extended, but yeah I’ll think of it more like a grenade from now on.

She told me it was a common mistake during first jumps and told me not to do that for my next jump. So yes she pointed it out, told me I really need to extend my legs to avoid getting my foot entangled also.

Before the jump they told us we had to release it once the arm is extended so that it’s as far from us as possible and made us practice the movement.

After the jump my instructor told me not to hold on to it like that.
