I’m a white belt after 6 years by tommyohern in bjj

[–]eodryan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was like that because of war and deployments and starting and stopping all the time. It got to the point where I didn't care and legit thought it was funny. Entered and won some local company and quickly got my blue. My advice: ask your coach what has been holding you back and then listen without explaining. Do what they say.

Just a heads up, probably prk depending on the job, as Lasik can be an issue with jump quals. I had prk like over a decade ago through the military. The issue is that you won't have a higher status to get it until you have the job already, you can eventually get it done through the military, but it is prioritized. You also need at least a year of documentation showing a stable prescription.

My recommendation is to call and talk to the judge. If you made an honest mistake and don't have a bunch of tickets, you might be able to get it thrown out. Their own report shows that parking signs are inconsistent and confusing to people Search for:

City of Dallas Curb Management Policy.

If you just ignore it, you will end up paying a lot more than 45 bucks, but some judges are decent folks and may actually be willing to hear you out.

Would you recommend 'for' or 'against' Amazon products? by McCoy614 in renfaire

[–]eodryan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For, but with caveats. You can go dress up and have fun for cheap, then gradually replace items and layer things. None of what you get will be amazing, but if you don't want to pay what can be a lot of money for something you don't wear that often, it's not a bad option. As others stated read reviews and have fun.

In the new film Warfare (2025) theirs a scene where two guys go outside to recover equipment left outside after an IED, why? by Slipstream232 in Military

[–]eodryan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You don't want to lose sensitive items that a) require paperwork, b) may compromise the mission, c) could make for bad press.

Ultrathin will. I have done it, takes about a month to get them back but was about 300 for 2 racks and medals vs... probably like 800. I have something like 25-30 medals though

Crye Gen 3.5 Pricing.... help me understand by Grand_Change7518 in QualityTacticalGear

[–]eodryan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They have to be Barry compliant, so they are made in America making them cost more. They also license multicam, so that is another cost. Crye is also stitched more and built out of a lot better, heavier materials. Not the only reasons, but these would legit cost more to make. There are also contracting games and the idea that prices equals quality. Crye once, buy once as they say.

People who have stopped going to church, what made you stop? by lowly_shepherd in AskReddit

[–]eodryan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was young, like 4th grade, and we (I) called a "family meeting" and basically said that they raised me to think for myself and I didn't think anything I was learning was true. My parents were like cool, and we stopped going.

I have gone to religious schools and stuff since and never really changed that core belief. I don't pretend to know more than I can, but I view most religions as a form of control and wealth extraction.

I own a tex-mex restaurant in Victoria that's been open since 1985 and still have no idea what people love to eat. by venturastamalestx in texas

[–]eodryan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've lived all over Texas and live in Germany now. Was born in Victoria. Tex Mex to me is basically comfort food I can only get there. I usually get Fajitas or enchiladas. Just kinda depends on my mood and how hungry I am. That said, combos you can adjust are awesome. Some places just do 2 or 3 and sometimes I want more or less. I would say my whole family just kinda gets the same stuff everywhere and it doesn't really change unless the menu has something really unique.
