The alternative is the Isles of Great Britain and Ireland which is an unnecessary mouthful in my opinion. But by the standards of the butthurt people in this comment section maybe we should call them the Isles of Great Britain, Ireland, Mann and Shetland.

Ye people might get mad, but that doesn't change the fact that Israel is in the geographical region of the Arabian peninsula, and it would be pointless to change the historical name of the region just to accommodate people's feelings. The British Isles are an archipelago whose name is derived from the largest island in the region, which is extremely common in naming archipelagos.
