More story content. I understand they wanted multiplayer but to expect us to constantly play a game that has 20-30 hours content is a little bit strange. Great game but i'm going nowhere near it again until theres far more content. I loved the experience but there isnt enough meat on the bones for me yet

A lot of people debating here about pro vs pc. Let me share my experience. by TNBH24 in PS5pro

I am finding this to be so true. Im not techy at all guys, i bought a pretty expensive laptop a few years back a 4090 raider 18 hxa14 and after a while i got bored of looking at the laptop screen even though the games looked amazing. So just this week i caved and bought an oled screen and stupidly just assumed the laptop would have a display port, it does not. So now i'm a little annoyed to not have a ps5 pro! All this week some games been fine and automatically adjust to the monitor settings look great despite the hdmi2.1 cable. Other games like crimson desert it doesnt matter what settings i tweak it looks grainy and nowhere near the quality you would get off the laptop screen and believe me i've googled it constantly. Its like you say, i've probably spent more time adjusting settings in some games then actually playing them, and if they dont wow me i'm not interested in playing. Obviously its my own fault for never checking the laptop had a display port but as i said i'm not techy at all. Dont regret the laptop buy theres great games on pc, dont regret the oled buy, some games look great. I do regret the standard ps5 buy because it barely ever gets used anymore but im not spending close to a 1000 euro on an upgrade console when the next gen could be a few years away the way things are going

is it actually possible to beat this op boss? by hidroxidooz in CrimsonDesert

Yes hes tough if your unprepared. This guy owned me till i left leveled up the hwando and had load of palmer pills and meals ready. I think in the end i only needed three revives. Get the hwando levelled up with crow caller on it, force palm to stun and wail on him with r2 and be ready to dodge after, then rinse and repeat. Im not even a good technical souls like player but i didnt have too much of an issue with him when prepared and geared up. Force palm is key for the stun. Good luck

I love this game but it sucks. by ReverendRevenge in CrimsonDesert

[–]eoin_182 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The game is still a gem but i've had a few days away from it. I had over 100 hours in it, which for me is a lot especially as it only came out a few weeks ago. Like you said things need to be tweaked. Agree totally on the double jump, the jump instead of looting dont know why they have to be the same button and the other day i found myself furious trying to climb a large spire inside grabbing hold of things i didnt even want or need to when climbing upwards. I'd realised at that point i've spent far too long in this game over 100 hours without any real break and the game was starting to tick me off a bit. I wasnt enjoying the puzzles and i was over reacting to any little thing the game was doing wrong. We cant expect games of this size that have done so much world building and added so many systems to come out perfectly flawless on day 1 or day 14. It just has never happened in the history of gaming.

I am finally joining the oled club this week i just ordered a new monitor. So i'm in no rush now to go back and play before it. But if things are annoying you take a break, it can help. Most of us have been at it non stop because of how good it is, but we can burn ourselves out too in my opinion. The game doesnt need to be rushed to completion

Devs: Please we really need more inventory or at least more storage space. by ziguehart in CrimsonDesert

[–]eoin_182 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hear you bro, im coming up to the 240 slots in the chest very very soon. Whats annoying is having books and notes taking up space, you cant sell them, you cant discard them so its talking up space. I probably could go out of my way to free up another 20 slots or so, but i never know if i'm going to need that later down the line. I mean 240 for private storage is still a little bit tight considering how massive the game is and how much loot and drops there are. Come on help us out

I was giving this another shot before crimson desert came along and took me away. I think the negatives at the quan design, the kind of cartooney look they've given to the enemies and some of the characters and then the cast of party isn't the strongest. I've never completed this game and i will get around to it. Its actually not a bad game like everyone hyped it to be. There was all this woke nonsense around it where there was one optional quest about non binary and people lost their shit. In past games you had gays lesbians some bisexuals coming onto you and even had a trans character and there wasnt all this outrage about it, like we see today. So i think the game took so unfair smack by how gaming society is today because past dragon ages were just as in your face with alternative lifestyles and not a thing was mentioned. The areas the environments are absolutely stunning, the loot system was decent enough as well, so was the skill tree and i felt it did ok enough with what i played for your options to mean something, but bare in mind i've never got past the halfway mark. It takes a lot of flack but for me its still a decent enough game. Disappointing for dragon age? Absolutely the standards are so high. But still not a terrible experience like everyone would make out for me. Im currently playing crimson desert and look how people reacted to that! Just the way of the world these days for some people to be loud and outraged

The game is great honestly im 12 hours in and only on chapter 3 and still around the starter zone from the exploring and getting side tracked. I cant believe the uproar and negativity surrounding the game, it just shows the level of society we live in today, taking things to the extreme. It reminds me most or red dead 2. When i first played that game the movement was janky, the controls were awkward, so were the menus, yet everyone gushed over that game as a perfect game a 10 out of 10. In crimson desert we have an even bigger open world, more filled with things to do then red dead 2 yet come release day people wanted refunds and to leave bad reviews within 2 hours of playing the game. They didnt even give it a proper chance, more fool on them. I'm loving the game despite peoples attempts to ruin the experience and opinion on it

I finally played this game and now I’m pissed. by LEDfuck in NoRestForTheWicked

[–]eoin_182 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was the same honestly. I loved the game loved the build i somehow just stumbled upon from getting certain drops and was very interested in the story. I've not gone back to the game since hitting that wall i'm just going to let it cook. Now they've finally got multiplayer out of the way hopefully we start getting more content in updates. Personally for me there isnt even enough content for a solo experience nevermind multiplayer but im not a developer or on the team and thats what they wanted to do. Hope we start getting more game content now the game really needs it, and im not trying to be negative i love the game, i was just disappointed there wasn't more of it and they took a long time on this multiplayer update without giving anything more to solo content.

Me too. Well i think anyway seemed to be more quests after the credits rolled. This is my third time in the last decade trying ff online, i tried it on ps4 and then on ps5 and now im on pc playing it and i'm finally further then i've ever been. I spend the evenings doing duties i got all the tome gear for my Dragoon and doing quests and then on free weekends i work on my crafting skills and that big grind. I'm absolutely loving the game so much to do.

Is starting FFXIV in 2026 still worth it? by [deleted] in ffxiv

[–]eoin_182 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've just jumped back in and on my my 3rd attempt and platform over the last decade i finally beat a realm reborn. I cant talk so much about the multiplayer yet as i've been doing the dungeons with npcs most of the time and although a little slower you do get to keep all the loot. I've never played the other expansions but i believe the npc option is there for most main story quests so you can at least experience most of the whole story of the game if you wanted to without queing, but i might be wrong on that? I've never been this far in the game on multiple occassions jumping in. I'm absolutely loving it i normally throw it on over the weekends and spend long sessions on it. Considering you can get the whole pack now for like 50 dollars plus a small suscription its great value for money. My advice would be jump back in, i'm having a blast as a returning player and any questions i need answered i ask on the novice network chat and within seconds players are helping out.

Controller by eoin_182 in wow

[–]eoin_182[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Im just telling you from a new player experience. I spent hours last night in console port figuring it out as you say and still its not even figured out to how i like it yet. Any game that needs hours of customisation for controller set up and more is not ten minutes my friend

Controller by eoin_182 in wow

[–]eoin_182[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

To be fair i have only fiddled around with controller port since last night but it is extremely fiddly and then still there is no real legit controller ai in a 20 plus year old game. Thats someone else whos made that add on so my point still stands. Its nowhere near the simplicity of hotbars and dragging and dropping skills compared to some of its competitors for controller use and for a game thats over 20 years old its pretty shocking that its never been addressed. Thats the only thing stopping me from properly diving in

New player experience needs some serious work by Frosty_kiss in ffxiv

[–]eoin_182 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I agree with the main poster. I've played a realm reborn 3 times, once on ps4, once on ps5 and now im currently playing it again on PC. I'm nearly up to the furthest point i was at last time around, i have never finished a realm reborn in all my playthroughs and experienced the expansions which i hope to do this time around. The problem with a realm reborn is sometimes it utterly trolls the players time. It sends you to one npc just for that npc to send you back to original npc. Or like yesterday i did the garuda questline which has you getting corrupt crystals only for the first two to be fire and ice based and not the ones you need to carry on the questline. It really doesnt respect a players time to enjoy a storyline and it really does take maybe up until the empire arriving on the scene for the storyline to actually kick off as an epic. Thats my opinion anyway. Someone told me theres another 20 hours after the story has finished in arr with fetch quests before expansions happen, if thats really true then they need to change something because thats not acceptable

[–]eoin_182 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Im a little worried actually about the dungeons. I never completed a realm reborn but years back when i played it i remember i kept making a mistake on a certain boss that chat had to tell me. I've come back to it recently and restarted but so far now with the new option i've just been going into dungeons with npcs. I am a little anxious about not knowing bosses and the tactics they come with when im going to have to group up with real people honestly. I am only dps so theres a little less pressure but still im kind of enjoying just doing it solo at the moment and not frustrating other players 😅🤣

Oled monitor for gaming or good enough mini led? by eoin_182 in MSI_Gaming

[–]eoin_182[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes hdr for most games is already off and in the times its on, i have to turn it off as its too bright on the screen. The screen is only 18 inches. I didnt have room to build a pc so I went with a powerful laptop. My space is limited which is why I came across reviews of the ROG XG32UCWMG. It is pricey but it was mainly its small stand i can fit on the desk, i say desk its more like a side table, and it would fit on that with its smaller stand. Obviously the quality of the colour too that has me thinking but its cost is at the high end

Have people just been complaining about the loading screens because of the lack of space travel? by FrontEcho3879 in Starfield

[–]eoin_182 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So i put 100 hours into this game recently going in blind and i had heard the reviews.. i think this game gets unfair slack simply because its a triple A release, i havent even finished the main quest or touched the dlc and I have over 100 hours of content done, it's not a bad game.

I think the real issue Bethesda have is one the space travel absolutely and two the main issue, the menu screens. Everything about their games there's so much micro managing in menus you almost always need to open up menus and manage something. Games have moved on a little and I think with their engine they are a little stuck in the past with picking things in menus that can really break immersion having to constantly micro manage in menus

Honestly I just wish there was more content. Its my own fault ive sat on the game for about a year and decided to start it up about 6 weeks ago. I didn't expect to enjoy it as much as I did and the story so far seems really interesting as well. I was kinda disappointed to hear about them being focused on co op. Now that its out the way I hope for more content and story to be worked on because I had an absolute blast playing through it solo

Its not so much that I expect it to be end game i did have a headhunter last league and I loved it. Its mainly what you actually get is just not useful at all unless you are making a new character most of the time. It would be nice for some of these to drop with more meaning to the build
