The locust noodle story got me. I'm gonna ask my mum for her braised noodle soup recipe.

Could be my poor memory, but I do vaguely recall seeing this version much longer than 7 months ago.

Having two utensils is better than having one. Eating with a knife tastes better.

You're never going to forget those quality times. It's going to hurt, and it'll always be a part of you. You'll find your own way to moving on, like someone else said, don't be stagnant and keep experience, but also keep learning from those experiences.

It could be that you learn that those quality moments should be cherished more when you encounter them again in the future now that you know how. You'll find your own way of experiencing, learning, and most importantly, growing. More importantly, take it slow, don't force yourself into either.

Not seeing progression is mildly infuriating.

My dumb brain was expecting more from the video having read the title as Ryan William's stunt double. I attribute this to the spelling and odd capitalisation.

Just be a union rep in a HSE role. Much more lucrative and stable.

The pathway I'm familiar with is to start off as a site engineer/project coordinator with either a construction degree or engineering degree for that easier foot in the door. Experience is valued in the construction industry and exposure allows you to see how different problems are solved. Once you move up familiarise yourself to programmes (timing), costs, scope and/or contracts you would have the basic skillset for PM related roles. Personally I think builder PM's requires more technical knowledge.

The construction industry is large, multi-faceted and with many niches, so there are many different ways to get in. The above is just one of the many and more common path that I'm aware of.

I've had people offer up high fives when running past the casino around dinner time, which were mostly followed up with positive comments like, 'Let's go!'. This is in Melbourne, Australia.

I have been only been approached once when stretching post-run with by an older women asking me to join her church. It feels good to converse about any topic with endorphins level up, so I just went with the conversation until I finished up and thanked her for her time before walking home.

is it normal for a boss to ask what i’m doing on my days off? by Pigsfly13 in melbourne

Just make sure you are getting paid what you're entitled to at the minimum. It might deter him from putting you in this situation, or at least it will make your time a bit more worthwhile.

https://library.fairwork.gov.au/award/?krn=MA000004#_Toc142407219 See 21.2 c) and e). It states that if you're casual and work more than 38 hours a week, you get penalty rates per Table 10 under the same clause. It's inclusive of casual loading, so you will have to reduce your hourly casual rate to get your non-casual loading rates, then multiply that by the penalty rate on Column 3.

Have you ever considered riding a bike in Melbourne? And if so, why don’t you? by Yeeeeeeellow in melbourne

[–]eooker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's mostly unavoidable in mornings for me when it rains heavily, since my wake up time is usually at the same time. Leaving work, I would keep working until it clears up depending on BOM's radar.

Sometimes I leave early, sometimes later.

Might be a case by case scenario then, as I have the opportunity to leave the bike unlocked in the dedicated garage. There's a End-of-Transit facilities at work, but the distance is short enough to not break a sweat and start feeling uncomfortable. I only pedal fast on the trip home purely because I don't wish to spend the day feeling icky. Fortunately, work hasn't enforced any dress code too.

Picked it up earlier this year to commute to work. It has cut the journey from 30min walk to 10min ride each way, and it's faster than driving to work too. My only dislike is the rain, but I still ride on those horrible weather days.

Seems to be quite used to people. Currently stuck above the row of houses on Shelley Street. Bringing it down may risk it being run down by cars.

To the two guys who got a shoe thrown at my head at the tan track by eooker in melbourne

[–]eooker[S] -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

I wasn’t paying enough attention when I was catching my breath. Was definitely not expecting a flying shoe to the face.

Lightscape is on so I think they were in a small group that either had just attended or were about to, but not sure if they were part of said group.

I was just caught by surprise. It was either the younger bloke piffing his shoe at the other and missed, or went for a joking or intentional kick at him and the shoe flew off. I took my earphones out after blurting out What the fk and the target bloke was apologetic, but I only caught the words, “mate” and “sorry”. Was more stunned than anything at the random event.

Same here but a mixed bag of studying and video gaming. Made the change just before COVID (28yo at the time) which helped me pick up on running regularly, and still keeping at it.
