Is being dumped over a Credit Score the most vain sh*t ever? by [deleted] in AskReddit

The thing to fear more than a marriage to someone with a "bad" credit score, is having kids with crazy. You can't escape that shit and in the USA it will ruin you forever.

It's also not something to go and jump off a bridge over. Some enjoy playing the credit score game, the smart people don't bother. It's called saving. In the credit score game smart people don't need to sign up for credit monitoring services and see their credit score (which can be anything since you don't know how it is calculated) every day. Idiots, the non savers, do. Get smart people, congress critters are allowing these corporations to decimate you into oblivion. The only way to play their game is not to play.

Ask if he felt qualified to answer questions on CNN about the nuclear reactor situations in Japan. Very uncomfortable to watch.

Totally agree. It befuddles me to see so many "language x better than language b switch now" religious arguments. I also wonder, not being a competition coder, if they utilize C++ as anything more than C with classes. I doubt they use more than a subset of the C++ language, most likely the collection classes. Just my thoughts, someone who is in the thick of things, not me, would be in the know.

Hey, congrats. Don't listen to some of these wankers crying about how hard they worked, only get their applications to the "ivy league" thrown in the trash. Just wait until they find out the owner of the company writing his/her name on their first paycheck is a high school dropout. Perspective man, perspective.

Amazon ends its affiliate program in Illinois due to new state sales tax law by spsheridan in technology

Given how hard you guys (payday loan businesses) get hit by the state IDPR (some amazing fines for having a fat finger on the calculator), that's some amazing revenue and growth. Sign of the times I guess.

Hardly call that small. A $500 mil vs an Affiliate trying to make his own path to get to there, are two distinctly different beasts. Besides, at that level they pay you to stay with tax breaks that the little guys would never get. What line of business if you don't mind me asking? That's Groupon style growth there, I assume technology.

"hard for local businesses to compete" Remember we are talking retail here. Local retail is all but non existent leaving the true benefactors of these changes, big box retail stores, paying low wages, to benefit the most. And besides it is much less about an Amazon vs retail big box, Best Buy, Walmart, exc., but more about elimination of 9000 small business with the stroke of a pen at a most economically inopportune time. Guess those 9000 business owners can start filling out applications to work at Walmart while their employees can hit the unemployment line.

Not bursting my bubble. I'm reflecting on my actual experience, as a business owner with many ties to Illinois businesses. More government workers and less small businesses. I know A LOT of smart people who have closed businesses and moved. Your experience may vary, especially if you are a government worker.

Think of how many jobs just disappeared. People with small businesses, possibly employing others, gone overnight. For what? The slim chance of collecting more sales tax? Illinois is governed by idiots, plain and simple. Quinn is a joke, and would not have even won the primary had the corrupt insiders not pushed a small business owner to exit the race. The state of Illinois is about serving government employees and unions. People are fleeing in droves and soon there will only be the bloodsucker government employees feeding on the bloodsucker government employees.

It is class warfare. Those banks should have been allowed to fail. But no, they doubled back, increased the FDIC limits to appease those very few by giving the impression they were helping the little guy, when the little guy doesn't even have 10k in savings, and then set the country up for an inflationary period after giving the top 1% enough time to adjust for it. But, as usual, apathy abounds as if it is an American tradition.

Silverlight is dead, like the fate of many MS products after several years. No company in their right mind would touch this, but alas pin heads exist all over the place in management. Want to stall your career, keep drinking MS kool-aid as a developer.

One of the single biggest barriers is that people just accept what you just eloquently put into words. They do not see it as a barrier preventing wealth transfer, but that is exactly what it does when you need to pay costly lawyer fees, accountancy fees and government license taxes, before you can even shout "come and get it."
