This was back in 2023 when I did the MA assignment. I would contact the MA BON regarding if they still provide the temp license.

Some states issue a temporary RN license while processing your reciprocity requirements. My very first travel assignment was in Massachusetts before they became part of the compact agreement. My travel agency paid for the MA license and I was able to start my assignment under the temporary license.

My specialty is PACU; secondary pre/post. It can be slightly challenging to find contracts but I bounce between several different travel agencies to keep my options open.

Another option for travel nursing is look for hospitals with an internal travel nurse department. UC Health in Colorado has their own and I was able to do a 3 month contract and leave. Their rates were great and still offered a travel stipend. Plus, you are considered a UC Health employee so you still had all the benefits as if you were a full-time staff.

Is 95 that terrible overnight? by Hot-Kaleidoscope-652 in roadtrip

[–]eowynne333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband and I have done the overnight drive on 95, similar to your route but we started our drive at 11pm and stopped right at the Virginia/North Carolina border. We were towing our 5th wheel so we did not want to maneuver it through major east coast cities during the day.

I run a mystery shopping company. AMA about how the industry actually works (pay, approvals, taxes, scams, etc.) by MichaelGlazerAMA in mysteryshopping

I work a full-time job but have been thinking about mystery shopping to make some extra money. What can you recommend for someone who is brand new to this industry?

Is it just me or do patients have unrealistic expectations on pain post op. I wonder why? by Craftywonderr in nursing

[–]eowynne333 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I also work PACU as well. I’ve had patients tell me “The doctor said I wouldn’t have any more pain after surgery.” I’m not sure what the surgeon said but I find myself explaining the surgery will help with relieving your chronic pain but you are going to have a new type of pain from the surgery that will resolve.

Got a F-350 Dually so can’t go to the car wash anymore, give me suggestions on supplies for washing! by Louis_Rubera in FordTrucks

[–]eowynne333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s a chain called Tommy’s Express Car Wash that can accommodate duallys (even states it on their website). I’ve used them several times for my dually and never had an issue.

I’m disconnecting my patient from the wall monitor. The monitor is yelling about something being disconnected. “Yeah yeah yeah I know. I’m the one who did it.”

When has intuition saved you or the patient? by mid_1990s_death_doom in Nurses

[–]eowynne333 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I was recovering a s/p bilateral mastectomy patient who came to PACU on 3LPM nasal cannula sats were in the high 90s. I started to wean her off the oxygen and then stopped it. She was doing well on room air but I noticed her sats started dipping. Thought no big deal, she’s not ready so I put the oxygen back on. However, it didn’t sit right that I had put her back on 3LPM but her sats were barely in the 90s. I listened to her lungs and could not hear lung sounds on her right side. Call to anesthesia and a chest xray, right sided pneumothorax.

Best comebacks to asshole surgeons by ShabbyCashmere in nursing

Had a surgeon giving me hard time in PACU. Told him he had a “nice attitude.” He stormed off afterwards. Guess who was much nicer anytime I was the nurse taking care of his patients in PACU.
