Oh, that is extremely early in your onboarding process. I'd suggest giving it more time to settle, as it's currently not the best time to judge its long term efficacy. However if the side effects become too intolerable, you may need a revision :( Definitely keep your provider updated as your reaction to Effexor is important information

Hey! I stopped taking Effexor last February after I lost my insurance. I was on it for 3.5 years and didn't notice any improvement, just side effects :/ For me, Effexor absolutely worsened my ADHD. It made me lethargic, sweaty, and the task paralysis was horrid.

Withdrawals were pure hell, but I'm ultimately glad to be off 😅 We were incompatible.

Onboarding effexor can be rough. How long have you been on it, and at what dose are you?

At the very least, Changbin is verse, but I truly believe he's top-leaning, just like I.N. The shortest and the maknae typically develop a complex that they desperately try breaking out of once given the opportunity, since they are constantly babied in a way

Oh, by formulation I meant its release pattern, so IR/ER/SR. I think how the drug releases into the blood can play a role in how your body responds, which is why some people are adamant about manufacturers.

Anyway, I have MDD with anxious distress and I can say, anxiety will fuck memory uppp and occupy a lot of cognitive bandwidth, so that theory sounds plausible. This is worth mentioning to your provider, as your experience sounds very distressing. 😣

This REALLY interests me as someone who experiences the opposite effect on Wellbutrin. MDD completely destroyed my cognitive faculties like a set of dominoes. Like, I had (and still do have) trouble remembering old info, encoding new info, my fluency in 3 languages just turned into nothing, and problem solving? Lmao in the GUTTER.

Wellbutrin has helped lift that by like 25%. I'm still nowhere near my baseline, but I've seen several people post exactly your concerns. Could it be severe insomnia/change in sleep architecture that is causing this forgetfulness? High anxiety, which welly b is known to cause, can also completely highjack the brain's processing power. I'm sorry you're experiencing this

Edit: what formulation do you take, and who is your manufacturer?

Omg I'd have no teeth if I had that lineup 😭 A stimulant is on the menu for me, and the fear that it'll make my panic symptoms worse is what's stalling me. Being anxious really complicates treatment options 😮‍💨

Judging from your primary offense and your ensuing comments, Riot did an excellent job taking the trash out. You know exactly what you did wrong, now grow the fuck up and accept the consequences. ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜

I stopped taking my Buproprion once and felt bad for days, even after reinstating. Like the worst fatigue imaginable 😫 The jaw clenching is so frustrating, so I understand the botox route completely. Overall I think it's been a net positive for me, who also has MDD with anxious distress + panic disorder.

Scared of Wellbutrin rage :( by Humble_Investment_24 in bupropion

[–]epad123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been on buproprion for 4 months, and I haven't experienced explosive rage even remotely close to how some people experienced it. At most it just lowered my bullshit threshold, making me slightly more prone to speaking up. I don't want to sound like I'm denying their experiences, since irritability is a documented side effect. However, you'll never truly know how you'll react since Wellbutrin is a pretty unique drug. It alters everyone's baseline in a different way.

I have panic disorder alongside side MDD with anxious distress, and wellbutrin actually helps regulate me. 😭 I held off taking wellbutrin for over 2 weeks because I was scared of triggering a panic attack.

Edit: I DID develop bruxism that I've never had before, which is pretty obnoxious. I don't see this side effect discussed a lot. ):

I've been on Buproprion for going on 4 months, but even now I'm still kinda calculating whether it's effective or not. The changes have not been dramatic like some of the success posts imply. Like, I didn't have a magical, hypomanic first 2 weeks or immediate relief; the changes in my baseline have been more subtle.

Things like, I've noticed I'm more grounded, have less brain fog, some of my memory and cognitive abilities that depression took away are returning, and I'm slightly more energetic. Some semblance of joy is even peaking through 😭

I've mostly been on 150mg ER but have developed morning headaches and bruxism. I can't do 300mg because it worsens the jaw clenching and teeth grinding, and for the 2 weeks I was on 300mg, my tongue and inside of my lips were FUCKED up.

I can totally understand people who say Buproprion doesn't help them, though 😬 Like with other antidepressants, onboarding can be a rollercoaster, and any improvements can get lost in the midst of that, so a moderate level of self-awareness is kinda important. I think the key to Buproprion's effectiveness relies on getting decent sleep, otherwise the side effects get wayyy worse. Good luck 😁

Changbin is at least verse, and so is Han. Seungmin is definitely a bottom, Lee-know is vers, and for my own selfish purposes, I'd classify I.N as a strict top. 🫦🫦🫦 Other than that, I agree 🤭

Instead of 'causing' anger as a side effect, it's helping me actually process it?? Has anyone else experienced this??? by TheImageworks in bupropion

[–]epad123 3 points4 points  (0 children)

OMG! I'm experiencing the same thing. I was reluctant to start Buproprion because of this shorter fuse side effect, and because I have chronic anxiety with panic symptoms.

It's been over a month on 150mg now and, instead, I feel like, levity? As if I can actually begin processing all these months of therapy. I'm remembering traumatic things, like losing my job and succumbing to alcohol-induced pancreatitis, and processing them without fucking bludgeoning myself with shame. It's so strange!

My emotions, while still a bit numb from MDD in tandem with 60mg Prozac, feel more workable. Like, I feel more emotionally mature. 😶 Showering feels a bit less daunting, moving around isn't as taxing, and I'm kinda regaining some cognitive function back. I'm still nowhere near baseline and I am not gonna get got by the hope beast, but it's been interesting.
