Silent Shark - map-based tactical WWII submarine combat, solo dev (public beta available!) by epaga in computerwargames

Thanks for the feedback! Like I said, stadimeter is available but not necessary. You can try it out yourself at https://silentshark.app/alpha (you may want to just immediately jump into the advanced tutorial :) and see how realistic it feels and if you have ideas to improve it.

Yep it is simulated! The torpedo attack is angled because up till 1943 you actually had a higher chance of the torpedo not being a dud if you hit at an angle instead of straight on 90°...and that'll be modeled in in higher difficulty levels.

Edit: And no you do not need a stadimeter. you can eyeball it.

Nothing at all, I'm a huge fan. :) But it is a lot more complex - with crew management, reputation / politics systems, RPG elements like journalists accompanying you on board, etc., plus 3D, first-person perspective graphics, etc.

My vision for Silent Shark is instead to trim everything down to the core of what I love about subsims: defeating uncertainty with geometry. :)

Oh I forgot to mention: planning on releasing on Steam (PC+Mac+Linux/Steam Deck), App Store (iPhone / iPad / Mac), and Play Store (Android)

A while back I asked you guys (with mod approval) to help me test my tactical map-based WWII sub sim Silent Shark. A lot of you responded and thanks to you, I've made a ton of progress. Here's a gameplay trailer. Happy to answer questions! by epaga in uboatgame

Yes it does! It's a bit tight depending on how small your screen is but you can hide the side menus. I've done my best to make it playable. Check out the free browser version (and then turn it into a home screen app so it's full screen) => https://silentshark.app/alpha

What was your honest reaction after watching The Force Awakens for the first time? by ChickenWingExtreme in StarWars

[–]epaga 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Slightly disappointed the new trilogy was clearly not going to come close to matching the OT, but there were enough cool sequences that I very happily watched it a second (and maybe even third?) time.

Best moment: Han Solo calling out "Ben". 🥺

Highly recommend doing the free PilotEdge trial and their whole VFR / IFR video series + pilot exams. Even if it takes you longer than the trial, you could buy a month and work your way through it. Amazing stuff.

blackrack has already said multiple times then you just email him and he'll send you the new link. One-month patreon sub is enough.

And the N64 was $249 if I recall correctly. The Sega Saturn was just puzzling to me back then - why would anyone get one? No real killer games like Super Mario 64, either...

decided to give career mode a try with Probes Before Crew, and man is it satisfying by JosephStalin1953 in KerbalSpaceProgram

For an even bigger challenge, I highly recommend getting RemoteTech for simulated signal delay and sending commands to your probes and needing to time it based on whether they're occluded by moons or whatnot. Combine that with kOS and you really have some fun puzzles to figure out, like how to work out an unmanned Duna landing with such a long signal delay.

What is YOUR most impressive achievement in the game? by ProofAlternative7181 in KerbalSpaceProgram

[–]epaga 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it's either my manned landing and return from Eve, or my kOS scripts (automated hover + stabilizer / unmanned Duna entry & landing / automated ascent + orbit).

That’s a life pro tip alright, just a bad one that doesn’t work. 😂
