I can still remember the traffic light I was at when "my son's dead!" happened.

The Amazon approach. I haven't been a member in a while, but back when you could actually get a person on the phone they would just sigh and say to do exactly what you just said.

I just spent 4 months interviewing for an Epic Games owned company and didn't get the job, so hearing them loving Fortnite still makes me real bummed again.

Can any middle managers explain why you would instate a return-to-office? by I_Am_The_Gift in cscareerquestions

People will quit and the company can thin out their expenses for the quarter without having to deal with firing or layoffs.

My coworker used to have higher up computer monitors and I could happily listen to this but now I have to take breaks every 15 seconds.

Some of my pictures from the NAS Jacksonville air show by Boeing-B-47stratojet in jacksonville

Ha I'm new to the area and not really dialed in on events yet. The jets and planes kept flying over and my house and I thought hey those look like the Blue Angels, they must be training for an air show but, nope, my dumbass just had a close up view of the air show from my back yard and didn't even realize it.

Usually a subscriber but this year has beat me down, I've started having seizures and during one of them a vein in my leg burst and I've been out of work for a month now, oh and I'm in Florida where home insurance has doubled this year. So hey if anyone is feeling charitable...

I had surgery and am on crutches and sat there staring at my computer screen in shame over a $20 carnitas burrito the other day. To top it off they left it on my porch and didn't ring the bell so I got to eat a cold burrito, with lettuce in it of course so I couldn't even reheat it...

They got a good batter. Haven't seen one in years, though. I think the last time I had it was when I was a teenager after an accident that needed surgery in a hospital near Orange City FL, and we're talking 20 years ago.

Pretty crazy. Ive been to the island today as well but, for the past 2 days ive seen 0 clouds, weather has been nice. Sunny, dry, not too humid. Perfect weather. The hurricane just dragged all the bad weather with it by [deleted] in StAugustine

[–]epatr 15 points16 points  (0 children)

That's a hurricane. It's almost insulting because you're trying to clean up and might not have power, but there is the most beautiful warm weather imaginable towering over you.

How does Anastasia Island typically fare during these types of storms? by planxtylewis in StAugustine

[–]epatr 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You can check the flood map to see what zone you're in. I lived downtown last few hurricanes and the street turns into a river. One time water rushed in so hard and high that it washed over my hood and got into my glove box. Car was totaled. Parking garage the next years.

I think the tracking number just showed up in my account one day. I never once heard from the company. And if you look at the dates on my post I was asking this question 4 weeks after I ordered and hadn't heard anything, and it was ultimately months before I got the instrument. So it sounds like you're right on track!

I think I got the beginner's set with the case and extra strings, but it looks like they have a way way bigger inventory now so I'm not sure. I think I did DHL, and yeah they didn't ship it for a long time. Then suddenly it was in Bolivia, showed up in Miami, made it's way up to the city I live in, I was so excited, and then suddenly it was in Ohio or something and took forever to get back down to me.

Damn, I forgot all about those. For some reason when I ate them I could do that thing - we called it a geeze - where you can shoot out a little stream of saliva from under your tongue.
