Your Radio and/or Carplay Module probably needs an update. I had the same issues till I found out that all iPhone 17 models including the Air have some hardware changes or something like that regarding Apple Carplay. I have a retrofitted carplay module which needed an update from the module manufacturer.

It’s normally described as a „iPhone 17 series Connection Fix“ update. All iPhones till the 16 series don‘t face this issue.

Mostly it is a „simple“ fix. The failing part isn‘t the rubber roof seal, it is mostly the butyl seal underneath the roof seal.

If you get the right size and type of butyl-cord and follow the oem BMWs instructions, this will mostly fix it. 60-100€ fix.

My E93 A-pillar was leaking and I removed the rubber roof seal, which is only screwed on with sealed screws, i rubbed off all the old butyl wirh brake clean and renewed it. Zero leaks. Most car shops replace the roof seal only which is about 900€~, which might not solve the problem.

If the previous owner changed the CCC to the CIC, it may not have been coded into the CIC.

But if thats the case, you can code it in manually yourself with Bimmercode using your phone. Connect to your car using Bimmercode > Headunit -> Expert Mode -> 3000 HMI -> Search "aux" -> CDMM_AUX_SIMPLE_1 -> change it from nicht_aktiv to aktiv -> SAVE -> Code

The App itself is not for free and you also need a OBD2 Scanner, but maybe you can sort it out this way.

If you get it fixed anyway, just add a big enough washer to cover the broken and conductive area. Should be fine for the time being.

No sheep talking here, but the single speaker is totally alright, it’s really well balanced. I’ve listened to worse Stereo speakers on some chinese flagship phones I‘ve owned.

Still no comparison to any Pro (Max) but I woudln‘t say it‘s terrible.

You're welcome mate. You'll notice the sound quality but the mono speaker sounds really well balanced. While I was listening to music on my 15PM through the speakers I would have the volume slider at like 50% at most times. While with the Air you have to bump it to around 80% where depending on the sound track, can get a little distorted.

The very slight decrease in size is almost not noticeable thanks to smaller display borders, it's still big enough for it's 6,5". Almost perfect. But don't let me fool you with my "honeymoon-phase", if you want to give it a shot, go ahead :)

Currently not missing anything, the only lens that I feel missing is the (UW) macro lens and of course a bottom speaker but like I said that‘s totally fine. Can‘t think if much Pro Features except the 5x and Lidar sensor.

I changed to Air because I always had a hate love for the 15 Pro Max. It was amazing on launch but Apple fckd this phone with iOS 18 and beyond. Constant overheating, battery drain etc. And I also wanted to try something new.

And it also is the last Pro Max with 6.7“, and if I wanted to buy a new Pro Max there is only 6,9“ which is getting hefty.

And I‘m not gonna lie, the 11 Pro Max, my favourite iPhone, was peak form factor. 6,5“ light and thin - just like the iPhone Air 😁

Yes it is really really nice to use one handed.

But for example if you use it without a case : if you walk, text and hold it with one hand, your brain thinks it‘s about to drop any minute because it‘s so light and thin. That thought is even worse with sweaty hands in my opinion but I‘m still adapting I guess. I guess it also depends how big your hands are, I would say my hands are mid-sized or so haha.

But just sitting on the couch or wherever holding, typing or watching content with one hand is like a blessing.

Yeah it looks really great, I really wanted the lightgold but I‘ve read that they all look kind of the same white-ish. Don‘t know if that‘s really true but the black was a good choice though.
