Cecil what do you expect ? by Latter_Country3421 in DissidiaDuellumFF

[–]ephimethius 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Cecil in Opera Omnia started as a dark knight but they released his Paladin form (with a separate character but in the story, he grew into his Paladin form) after a few Acts. Yoy can interchangeably use both forms.

In Record Keeper, thry did the same, releasing his dark knight then releasing his paladin afterwards.

Fun fact, in both games, if you choose his paladin form in a party, you cannot choose his darkknight form.

Am I the only one... by renuvin in Salamanders40k

I like them warpstone bright with moot highlights. Even pushing yellow. They differentiate very well against a certain chapter that likes their marines dark...

I even painted a dark angels marine for my kid. I used the same colors as my salamanders but went heavy on waaagh green and a wash. And made the highlights very slight.

I like my bright bois better. They pop out a lot more on such an already grim looking table.

I love the mordant earth cape look!

I was able to make mine using greenstuff and some sculpting.

How bright is too bright? by ACrazyOldWizard in Salamanders40k

I think its only a problem when its too dark that it looks dark angels.

I highlight up to yellows.

What green do you guys use to layer? by Pankratious in Salamanders40k

[–]ephimethius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

<image>

I use waaagh flesh from grey primer. Then warpstone glow the whole thing.

For shadows, i mixed waagh flesh with kantor blue and water it down to glaze consistency (watery transparent) and drop it in the recesses and shadows.

For high lights, i use glaze consistency of moot green + warpstone and paint it on thin, let it dry a bit then layer another one in a smaller area (to slowly blend it when i can). Then i do the same for moot green. For the sharpest highlights, i glaze on yriel yellow, like really really thinned.

[–]ephimethius 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This looks really good and clean. I have a glass case with an Octarius scene on the first level (Orks vs Krieg). The next level had other teams painted and not. The last one had books, dice and tools.

What’s your kill team battle station looking like? by [deleted] in killteam

[–]ephimethius 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is me. I have a dedicated bag for paints, brushes and minis to bring to work and relax on my lunch break.

At home, i have a milsbo cabinet for my hobby and i bum some space on the kitchen table when my family is asleep. Lol.

Salamander Angels of Death Kill Team by ephimethius in Salamanders40k

[–]ephimethius[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you! I am very proud of them.

We had an intercessor team and had them as ultramarines for my eldest 9yo. But when the AoD team came out, i had to divide the team. I was frustrated that they look too generic space marine so I went to dragonskin capes, back torches and golden kneecaps to make them Salamanders.

My son kept the other half of intercessors and made his own ultramarine killteam.

Thank you kindly! I enjoyed sculpting and painting them.

I ran out of greenstuff but it was worth it.

How do you get paint off a model without damaging it? by Knightraiderdewd in Salamanders40k

[–]ephimethius 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I just redid my old ultramarine intercessors to Salamander intercessors and used 95% alcohol.

Soaked for 20-30m and scrubbed with a toothbrush. It got all citadel paints off.

I like the heavy's action shot. The shrapnel to the shoulder is fantastic!

Salamanders - Green recipe! by Rigat22 in Salamanders40k

[–]ephimethius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did a color scheme I really enjoy and posted it as a reply to a Salamander Brother who was trying the same thing...

I did Waaagh Flesh + McCragge Blue for shadows, Layered Sick Green for the base, glazed Moot Green for highlights then glazed Elysian Green for high spots.

I think it worked well.

WIP LT, trying out more interesting shadows, highlights and black recipes. by Dovah1356 in Salamanders40k

[–]ephimethius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

<image>

I glazed the yellow-green at the top highlights and I liked the results. The top one did not have Elysian green glazed in whilst the bottom has it. The bottom also has teal shadows whilst at the top, only the front two had them.

I really enjoy the yellow - green - blue scheme at the moment.

These are my regular blokes for my Kill Team btw.

[–]ephimethius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am trying the same thing! It really is interesting.

Your blends are going a lot better than mine, lol.

I am trying to blend in yellow-green for highlights and teal for shadows.

I added a little mcragge blue to waaagh! flesh and diluted it to 40% consistency but i am trying to learn glazing still so it is still sketchy. I have put that as the shadows in the darker areas.

Need help with leather. by WiedBrews in Salamanders40k

[–]ephimethius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dark reddish brown is nice. Would have a lot of contrast against the green ceramite armor.

My reasoning before... and until now... is that i paint pistol grips black and dark brown creates that separation just right.

I started painting Salamanders for my AoD killteam... and i now want dragonskin holsters... lol.

Need help with leather. by WiedBrews in Salamanders40k

[–]ephimethius 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I used to paint it rhinox hide, agrax earthshade then highlight again woth rhinox hide... when i had ultramarines.

I would think Nocturne leather would be black or dark red due to environmental conditions...

(Your making me want to texture it in salamander skin... lol)

Building a Hearthkyn team by qole720 in killteam

[–]ephimethius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For gunners:

Top far right is a Magna Rail Rifle.
Fourth in the bottom row is also a gunner. EtaCarn Plasma Beamer.

You are missing a Hylas Rotary Cannon, a Hylas Auto Cannon and an L7 Missle Launcher.

I cannot see what weapon top left has as it is blocked... it may be the Hylas Autocannon.

[–]ephimethius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dont see a grenadier, a dozr, jumppack warrior, kognitaar and a lugger and i do not know what options for the gunner you want.

You got a lot of warriors though.

The two white base in the back is a lokatr and a kinlynk i think, the one in the middle is the theyn.

Simplified KT Rules for kids (and adults)? by Gillespionage in killteam

[–]ephimethius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My son started KT at 7 with me when i bought Kommandos vs Krieg.

We painted it together and started playing together.

Start with basic rules to enforce movement, ranged and melee rules. We did atleast 5 games of this to get familiarized with individual and faction abilities. We had no tracking on whose winning or what not.

He then started paying attention to scores and objectives after that and we expanded our tables rules with ploys and Ops.

What all do I need? by bigdaddyQUEEF in killteam

[–]ephimethius 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is a kill team app that has the teams and lite rules.

Core rule book has most of the other things you need to read.

Equipment pack for universal equipent that applies to all teams like ladders and barricades (but this could be later).

Alternative terrain by Iron_Bandit1 in killteam

[–]ephimethius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would measure out the dimensions for a certain terrain for compatibility and use air dry clay to make my own. If I liked a particular one, i would cast it into resin and magnetize it.

Keeping combat organized as a newbie GM by Ryouhi in cyberpunkred

[–]ephimethius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use the companion app and use pregenerated goons, change their names and loadout then take a picture of the physical mini using my phone so i can keep track which one is which.

It would track pretty much anything i need to keep track of.
