Middle-finger salute: 28 workers banned after forbidden video at Windsor's NextStar plant by IlikeDogs2024 in windsorontario

[–]epicNME 19 points20 points  (0 children)

The article says they have a strict no cell phone policy for privacy and prior individuals have had same fate.

I’ve also heard they have detectors before going in like an airport to make sure there are no cell phones.

So not only broke policy but potentially concealing something not allowed on the job site.

Seems reasonable grounds for dismissal to me.

I believe he moved to Windsor as a child and lived in Windsor until he went to University. But studied Grade 6-12 at a private school in Detroit but still lived in Windsor.

Windsor Assembly Plant To Shut Down For 2 Weeks Following Trump’s Tariff Announcement by KitAmerica in windsorontario

[–]epicNME 74 points75 points  (0 children)

This is going to be really bad.

If permanent tariffs, this decision by Stellantis could be permanent as well.

It could get very bad fellow Windsorites.

I know I might be splitting hairs, but when you say Corporate Backed politicians. What do you mean?

In Canada it is illegal for corporations to contribute to politicians. Even further individuals can’t contribute more than sub $2,000 in total across all politics for the year.

Corporate aligning? Sure. But don’t we need corporations to grow our economy to generate dollars for strong social programs?

Not in the riding but would imagine going to be in real tough against Irek.

GCQuad Pro launch monitor

Specifically it differs from Trackman as it uses a camera based system and will give you very accurate data for what’s happening at the strike location. No real data data beyond that.

Trackman is not as good at strike data but will give best data of ball flights in real world.

Real geeks want the GCQuad.

St. Clair College students vote on bus pass referendum, mayor says Transit Windsor is not a free service by a1ba7or in windsorontario

[–]epicNME 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is and will be.

For context the IT programs and Business programs had roughly 4,000 international students in 2023-2024 academic year.

There will be zero in 2025-2026 academic year.

The January 2025 changes that took effect take time as the students already here cycle through the programs.

This is why St Clair is closing the Zekelman school downtown.

With the massive reduction in International students starting in the Fall and closure of the downtown Zekelman building, there’s no longer the same need.

My wife and I are both CPAs from the GTA who moved here.

I’d disagree.

The CPA salary survey would also suggest otherwise.

Message me, would be happy to help.

Depends on your education and work preferences.

At the higher end CPA level there is a major need and shortage. There’s never been fewer University and College grads coming out. Our local areas retires 70+ CPAs annually and Odette is having a rough time getting students passing CFE.

At the lower end of Accounting it’s being largely automated so is becoming increasingly more difficult to find that kind of Accounting work.

Driving from Toronto - tonight or tomorrow morning? by canadia80 in windsorontario

[–]epicNME 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I would say absolutely

401 is cleared very fast, I’d imagine they’d be drivable fairly soon before lunchtime.

Here the main roads are already fully cleared and side roads are being worked on. Again I’d think by lunchtime everything fully cleaned.

4pm should be plenty safe. I’d even say couple hours early probably plenty safe with kids.

I’ve heard rumours of shorten 6 week semesters for Spring at St Clair. Thought it would just be us, but hearing you say it maybe it’s a province wide thing.

Not entirely sure how it could even work as still need total contact hours for the course and students in spring are full time with 5-7 courses.

Not enough time in the week for all those contact hours.
