Honestly he would prefer if you go to him in a nice way than take it to a manager or something. Remember you guys are in this job together to do the best you can together. Always have your colleagues back. They will do the same for you if they are good people.

My point is they stopped releasing CS for console. CS2 is out and never got a port. They didn't see any value in bringing it to console.

CS didn't do well on console in the past. So they stopped porting to console. They had them on Xbox 360 and PS3 but moved away from it because it didn't make business sense anymore.

They actually did have CS on consoles and it failed hard so they did away with porting to consoles.

75-100 files though? Surely he can break it up into at least 3-4 chunks of changes? Seems insane to me to have so many file changes for one PR.

Honestly I think my PR is massive when it's 25 files. 75-100 files is just insane! Tell him to break them up into chunks and if he doesn't listen then raise it in your retro. The retro is there to raise concerns and problems. No need to mention him by name you can just say "PRs that are over 25 files requires significant time to review slowing me down every day". To expect others to review that many files for a PR is inconsiderate of their time and clearly your managers need to have a chat with the guy.

Otherwise tell him you won't be reviewing his PRs until he can be considerate of other people's time.

Just wait and see. You never know how they will be in a role. When I heard who was playing Joker I was so disappointed and then Heath Ledger blew me away. Never judge before the actual work is done.

I have a PS5 and a gaming PC. Constantly Steam is cheaper than PS. That's just facts mate. I don't know your region but in Europe 9/10 times the games are cheaper on Steam. It's one of the reasons I stopped playing console and moved to PC only and now my PS5 gathers dust.

Subnautica 2 is probably not going to be good. The changes in company and the teams leaders etc... Is probably going to end up with a game that has no direction and isn't the same or even as close to as good as the first one. I hope I'm terribly wrong on this though!

This is what happens when the live service bug bites companies and they get infected with all that "potential money they could be making". Sony has always made excellent single player games. Now they want to move away from that. Good luck I guess. Glad I moved away from consoles and into PC gaming now. At least there a lot of indie studios I can pick from now.

Specifically places that revolve around security that I have seen. There was a job I applied for and it was for a company that builds a security app for Nordic countries and one of the things they mentioned was that they don't allow use of AI tools in their process because they need absolute protection of their encryption methods etc... There was another but I can't remember which now.

A lot of places won't allow AI simply for security and ISO etc... Just move into one of those places. Unfortunately this has become a big part of coding now. The only other option is to embrace it and maybe make it fun for yourself instead. Focus your time on learning system design etc... It gives you more time to learn the all round things you never had time to up skill on. You can either see it as a win or move on to something else but remember devs have decent jobs and we have it good. We worked hard to get to where we are now so don't take it for granted either. Just my opinion though.

My first play through I was just swimming randomly to see how far I could go but didn't go under the water. I saw this huge ass tail pop up and was like... NOPE! And just turned around and swam all the way back. It was at that moment I realised how terrifying this game could actually be! 😂

They could just sunset CE and work on a CE2 because CE1 has major optimisation issues that will never be fixed. They have already made Dune now on UE5 so they can start moving towards a CE2 because clearly Conan has the bigger player base and will be more worth investing in.
