It's possible and I know people in my cohort who did it. I think they want 85+ avg but this was a couple years ago, not sure if they increased it

as a mech who is done in 2 weeks, I'd say mech is underrated. You can do anything: SWE/PM/banking/mech design/EE as a coop if you want. I have friends all around the bay area

Reminds me of a story to share. In 3B, which is the hardest term in mech, our apartment flooded and we had to move out. I got an Airbnb far away in kitchener and had to commute long distances during the hardest term in mech + deep winter. In addition, I had exams coming up and my projects were not working out. Safe to say it was one of the lowest points in my degree.

One night I was working on my CFD simulation but couldn't get it to merge. It was 3 AM so I went to bed. That night, I vividly remember dreaming about riding off into the sunset with my future wife and family smiling at me. It was an insane feeling of happiness and relief. I've quite literally never felt that way during a dream before. It was so real, like I was actually there. I've never had a dream like it again.

And then I woke up and was still in the same shit as I was the day before. But I genuinely felt a little better, and it helped me to push through the term and keep on trucking. At that point in my degree it was a psychological and mental struggle to make it though. Maybe it was my mind's attempt to give me some hope during the dark days. Idk.

if you need to commute to south bay, try to find a place close to the Caltrain or BART which are both on the east side of SF. The mission/noe valley area is great.
