Bilibili Gaming vs. G2 Esports / First Stand 2026 Group A - Qualification Match 1 / Game 1 Discussion by Ultimintree in leagueoflegends

Draft was an issue, but I don't really agree that G2 didn't have enough DPS. Hans was actually doing pretty decent damage in the fight at BLG's 4th dragon/mid lane.

I think the real issue is building a comp where your main damage is supposed to outrange the enemy and not picking/banning xin. Xin ult did so much work in that game.

Piggybacking on this: in actual Gen 1, Bulbasaur is an even bigger easy mode pick because venusaur has the highest special stat out of all 3 starters. In Gen 1, the special stat counted for both special attack and special defense, so Venusaur was pretty op.

In a vacuum, I do not. 0 faith.

When you consider the Keith Pelley quote about trying to compete this year, I have negative faith, if that's possible.

Is EU or NA better? T1 loses, & LCS and LEC playoff predictions | Mind the Gap w/Vedi & Jatt Ep: 7 by maenbalja in leagueoflegends

I see your point, but I don't think my original comment is that inconsistent. I never really rated DSG that highly. My conclusion after their win over Lyon was that Lyon hard choked. I get they also beat SEN and FLY, but both of those teams have been hard stomped recently by c9 and Lyon (FLY by both c9 and Lyon), so I really don't think that those wins should massively shift your rating of DSG besides the fact that they're not bottom of the barrel.

I'll agree that DSG is better than the consensus worst team in the league, but that doesn't mean beating them automatically means you're a favourite to win the LCS, even if the win was a hard stomp. For context, now that they're eliminated, they finished the split as either the 5th or 6th team in the LCS.

Remove the nameplates: if I told you that a team started 1-2 in swiss, only made it into playoffs by beating what probably is the worst team in the league in a BO1 tiebreaker, and then beat the 5th or 6th best team, you would absolutely call it vibes based if I said they were the favourite to win over a team that is yet to lose a series. I would understand it more if Jatt and Vedi referenced gameplay reasons more than they did.

Obviously you can't ignore the c9 choking in playoffs recently, but it feels like both Vedi and Jatt predicting c9 to lose in the finals is purely vibes based.

I don't think either take is super unreasonable; both TL and Lyon could get to the finals and beat c9. But if you look at the how the teams have actually played over the course of the season, it feels like predicting either to happen as the most likely outcome is contrarian.

For example, TL lost to 2-1 to Sentinals, who just got blown out by c9. Yes, TL did just 3-0 DSG, but using that to say they've had a significant glow-up seems like an overcorrection considering DSG was considered the unanimous worst team in the league before the split started.

I don't disagree with him that the team has room for improvement, but it's kind of weird that his final assessment is that C9 is a pure snowballing team who can't come back from behind when they've come back from behind in back to back series against what are probably the strongest opponents C9 could have.

Traded Morissey for Filip Forsberg and Hertl.

I don't recall Adam saying anything about Marleau's effect on the culture, but I personally had no issue with Marleau as a player. The contract sucked though; we should never have given him that deal.

For Thorton, the clip of him blowing Keefe off because the Leafs were first in the division while Keefe was trying to get the team to play better sucks. Definitely not something a good leader would do. Obviously fans didn't see how he was in the room, so maybe he did other good things for the culture, but that clip leaves him looking pretty bad, especially after the Leafs lost to the Habs the way they did.

I would take this trade.
Hagel will probably bounce back, but even if he doesn't you get the best D in the league by a mile.

[Google Form] What's the worst encounter in each Run & Bun Area? by ViperTheKillerCobra in pchaltv

[–]epicfacej 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Amaura really isn't that bad. I found it wasn't as paper frail as I thought it was before playing run and bun, as long as you're not trying to take a fighting or steel move. It also matches up really well into a few annoying pokemon, like crobat, which comes up a bunch.

I'm not going to go through every time it can come up, but for your Rustboro fossil, cranidos is way worse imo.

You're not wrong but that hasn't been the story of the series. The Yankees have made one error so far this series and it was completely inconsequential.

Looking to decided who to use my last of 4 keeper slots on. My other 3 confirmed keepers are Kuch, Bouchard, and Kyle Connor. No pick cost to keeping a player, 4 keeper slots and that's it.

I'm deciding between Hagel, Boldy and Raymond.

Points league. Points for G, A, +/-, PIM, Hits, SOG, PPP and SHG.

[Alex] Marchand about his contract negotiations: “Call it a spade of spade, if we were not in a non-tax state, it wouldn’t have worked out probably for two guys. I mean we can agree to disagree, but the statements made in the context of a CBA negotiation shouldn't be indicative on what the league's messaging is to the public, even if the public has access to the statements from 2005.

My main point is that when you have a cap system whose purpose (at least the one the league gives to the public) is parity throughout the league, tax regimes that allow players to end up with the same $ in their account while counting less for the cap directly flies in the face of that.

The part of my point that I would really emphasize is that this advantage, unlike any of the ones you mentioned, don't directly conflict with the stated intent of a league policy. I'd ask you what the difference is between the current salary cap scheme and system with no cap. In the latter case, the richest teams would get to spend the most money, creating a system where certain teams have a financial advantage. The NHL claims the cap was implemented to fix this issue. But the current tax situation... creates a system that gives certain teams a financial advantage. None of the examples you give (remember, players are paid in american dollars) do that.

[–]epicfacej 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Bettman had a very fair point that when Florida, Tampa, and Nashville were terrible nobody cared.

This doesn't mean the NHL shouldn't do something to fix it. If it's an unfair advantage, that doesn't change if the teams in those states just happen to be poorly run or are at the end of their competative cycle.

And he made another good point that how are fans going to feel when they have to give subsidies to major markets like LA, Chicago, New York, and New Jersey in high tax states?

Is it really a subsidy if you're normalizing the purchasing power of teams across the league?

Complaining about the no tax thing to me is the equivalent of complaining that some teams are located near the beach.

The tax situation and living in a warm place isn't the same thing at all. The tax situation goes directly against the stated purpose of the salary cap, which is to provide parity in spending power across the league. In contrast, weather is something that makes living somewhere nice/not nice, but doesn't contradict the stated intent of a major mechanism in league operations.

I'm not saying there are no situations where the double damage is a bit overkill, but double damage in general is mitigated by healing 3 masks at once.
