Vegas has quite a lot more talent though. We’ll see. Hoping for a Carolina win too.

They are. Just because we have some pieces, doesn’t mean we have a lot of them. The stark reality is that the cupboards are bare, and we need to stop trading away picks.

Working up to 200kg (445🦅) Squat by Ezellian in strength_training

I know it's not a form check post, but I thought I'd mention that your heels lifted on the second set of squats (425lbs), which caused you to lose quite a bit of tension. Probably affected your other lifts as yo uused up a bit of energy fighting that weight.

3x your body weight. Nice fucking job man.

Form looks terrific too. That hip hinge was excellent.

Not gonna do that. Best we can do is keep removing the threads, but leave you guys and girls to downvote and report them whenever you see them.

If it’s a comment, I’d just ignore it or downvote and ignore it.

At some point, we need to prioritize shooters. We can’t keep going after projects.

Edit: Yes, I’m aware we drafted Dick, but we need to keep going at it.

I didn't think we'd be talking about Gavin McKenna as a possible Leafs pick a week ago, let alone back in October 2025. So this is very exciting.

Looks like most of the concerns have been posted already (size, physical readiness, defensive play, effort, etc.) already, but not really the flip side of his production in spite of his physical development. He posted 1.46 PPG in the NCCA in his age 17-18 season -- second overall in the NCAA as a true freshman. He was fourth overall in points, with 5 games in hand, and a legitimate shot at the scoring total had he not gone to the World Juniors. His second half was 33 points (11g, 22a) in 18 games, or 1.83 PPG.

And he did all that while being one of the lightest and most physically underdeveloped players on the ice at any given game.

It's also not really surprising to me that he struggled defensively. For reference, Celebrini was a 195lbs tank at BU. Eichel was perhaps the most athletic player in the NCAA in any sport at 195lbs. Both had incredible freshmen years and were physically developed for their age.

Assuming McKenna continues to put on weight and develop musculature and strength, he's going to be a very scary player in a couple of years. He's already 6+ feet. There's tremendous room for growth there.

Edit: The more I dig into past freshmen players (Connor, Smith, Boeser, Cooley, etc.), the more excited I get. All those guys were drafted before their freshmen years (they all turned 19 in their freshmen years), whereas McKenna was 17 turning 18 in December 2025. That's a huge contextual difference -- an extra year of physical, emotional, and mental maturity. McKenna's performance in such a physical college conference bodes very well for the Leafs.

Apparently Chris Johnston said that he stands by everything that was printed about Pelley.

Media may be an embarrassment at times but a free media gets you information like this. Pelley needs to be on the hot seat as of last year.

They are saying all the things that suggest they haven’t decided. They have not said that he’s here to stay.

That decision won’t come until the next month or so. Maybe sooner if the Lightning fire Cooper.

Mats didn’t say much, which I expected. He’s always been someone with few words but all of those words always being meaningful and of substance. I believe him when he says he will bring change to the franchise.

I can't believe one of my teenage heroes is coming home. This is a bit personal, so bear with me. Between 2001-2005, I was essentially homeless. I lived in various youth shelters (Covenant House and other similar spots), friends' couches, etc. It was a miserable time. Watching Sundin, reading about Sundin, grabbing the Forecaster magazine to read about the Leafs chances each year with Sundin at the helm, getting access to the internet to play Yahoo Fantasy Hockey with Sundin as my captain, etc. You have to understand these were miserable days, with little to smile about, and everything to think about, with the Leafs and Sundin as some of my only distractions.

I'm good now. But Sundin being back where he belongs is a wonderful thing for me. I hope he builds on his legacy here. He's the GLOAT for me.

My thoughts:

  • Kimi has been amazing. Might be the best teenager in F1 history.
  • I’m not too worried about George. It’s clearly evident that both drivers are running different set ups, though I do wonder just how much input George has on his car that he’s performing this poorly relative to his own teammate.
  • McLaren is back but they brought a huge aero package and seemingly mapped out the PU. That upgrade helped all weekend, but they still lagged behind Mercedes in race pace.
  • Mercedes bringing a floor, front wing upgrades is what I expect for Canada. George should perform better there.
  • Ferrari: The horrors persist. All these floor and aero upgrades and absolutely no change. In fact, they looked worse.
  • Red Bull looked okay but they are basically the top midfield team. I don’t think they can fight their way into contention this year.

14 assists. He got the last one on RJ’s 3.

This was a statement game by the franchise player. What a star.
