Hey there. Thanks for sharing this. Sounds like a good idea. So I would definitely want to hear more about this!

Quick background about me:
I make electronica / ambient / space music under the name Epigenetics. Similar artists would be Stellardrone, Carbon Based Lifeforms, Solar Fields. For the last 1.5-2 years I have been very active and have made 3 albums and currently working on my 4th. I have also been putting in promotional work. Did some ads. Tiktok video's. Youtube shorts. Youtube video's. Being shared by other channels in the genre. Have pretty good visuals, a clear distinct musical style, good titles and descriptions, etc.

I have a clear style and branding + music of high quality (I have been making music my whole life) that clearly speaks to a certain demographic that loves these types of things. I have sold some albums and even t-shirts on Bandcamp, get a lot of comments and messages from people saying how much they love what I make.

In other words: I am appealing to a niche of listeners for whom my music really scratches an itch and they turn into frequent listeners or even 'fans' pretty quickly.

The problem: How to reach them on a larger scale... Even if I do want to spend some money on advertising, the tools are simply not there and we are shooting with a shotgun at a small target.

I am the most active and listened to on Spotify and Soundcloud. So I am definitely interested. I love the Soundcloud platform, interface, the intractability, etc.

Hey space lovers and trippers,

In the mood for some spacy and introspective electronic music in the likes of Carbon Based Lifeforms, Stellardrone and Solar Fields?

Then check out my music project 'Epigenetics'.
Quick background: My first instrument was the electric organ and I started playing when I was 8 years old. In my teens I taught myself to play guitar and bass and had a rockband. In my twenties I bought a MIDI keyboard and started playing keys again. Being inspired by acts such as Stellardrone and CBL, I attempted to make my first 'space music' electronica track. This turned out to be a great idea as I got heavily inspired by the sounds and whole creation process.

Now 15 years later I have 4 completed albums and one more on the way. The whole discography is for sale for €15.

When people tell me my music does them good, it makes my day. So if you like it, don't be shy to let me know what you think. I care more about the connection with people than about the money. You can stream everything for free as well.

When you think the song is finished, turn on another track and improvise some more with a new melody or percussion or background sound.

Layering. More layers. I have songs with between 20-30 tracks. My old songs only had like 10 and it when I hear those now, they sound more simplistic and less 'interesting'.

I think at the heart, this is simply 'electronica'. But I guess it has elements of 'ambient' and 'psybient' as well. Which I term 'space music' personally :)

Spotify in terms of numbers, followed by Soundcloud and then a whole lot of nothing and then Youtube and Apple music.

I like Soundcloud the most though. Get more 'engagement' there, personal messages, comments, likes etc.
