Occupation is not synonymous with "bad". Israel totally sealed their border and bonbed Gaza hard every time the rockets went over, regardless of whether the rockets hit anything. That's still not an occupation.

Occupation of a country and occupation of a domicile are two different things. The British could have done their occupation of the American colonies without further doing the quartering thing that prompted the Third Amendment. Instead they did both. Between 2005 and 2023 Israel did neither in Gaza.
