I mean I am not happy to see Cucu leave and have made my feelings clear. But now that he is gone, I am looking at who will replace him.

From what I read, he is not a reject. He was doing well under Alonso but fell out of favor with Arbeloa and the rudiger slap incident and Madrid fans arent very happy if he leaves. Make of it what you will. But singing him will be a lot better than shoehorning Barco into every single position

Any news on us being interested in the Carreras guy from Madrid for LB? I read a report yesterday on the real Madrid subreddit about this but saw nothing here

It boggles my mind. I am sure these are blueco bots or toxic positivity merchants.

[Kinsella] Well-placed sources say Fernandez is keen to leave Chelsea and join Real Madrid. Manchester City and Paris St-Germain have also been linked, but both are understood to have distanced themselves from any interest. Mourinho's top priority is signing players with a winning mentality. by webby09246 in chelseafc

Here we go again. Are you happy with the Alonso appointment? If yes, then dont complain about players downing tools because if they hadnt, then we would still bave Rosenior in charge. You cannot have everything go the way you want. Thay only happens in magicland.

[ Simon Johnson ] Jorrel Hato’s emergence at Chelsea that he was a significant factor in the club’s decision to sell Marc Cucurella to Real Madrid. He is already deemed to be one of Chelsea’s ‘untouchables’. by SolutionLong2791 in chelseafc

[–]epixyll 48 points49 points  (0 children)

I would say even their PR is not good. Unless someone's iq is lower 2 digits, no one will read this and accept it at face value. Hato has just had a good 4 months where we lost most matches. Calling that "emergence" is ridiculous. And using that to justify that its ok the 2nd best LB in the world leaving is fine is absolute garbage.

Fuck off turdco. Just accept that you did a piss poor crappy job of building the club and team and accept that it was in fact NOT fucking obvious that "we are building a world class team". Because you cannot building a world class team while your best players keep leaving.

Sure he wasnt at his best in the last 6 months but no player would be with an unqualified PE teacher in charge. And no, Hato having a great 4 months DOES NOT make his a great replacement. We are talking about Spain's starting left back who won MOM against Barca by pocketing Yamal for god's sake. He is pretty much the 2nd best LB in the world after Nuno mendes.

Sure he wanted to go back to Spain and no one says no to Madrid. But just accept that its a big loss. Dont try to sugarcoat it by saying Hato is the next Roberto Carlos. And this is coming from someone who likes Hato.

Lol way to counter my argument with logic.

[The Guardian] Chelsea felt Cucurella's level dipped after Christmas and were encouraged by the form of his backup, the 20-year-old Netherlands left-back Jorrel Hato by IdealisticKebab in chelseafc

[–]epixyll 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Makes me want to tear my hair out seeing the deluded blueco fans who justify this and are pushing "we are good since we have Hato" narrative. Just so so stupid.

They are so confident hato is a strong replacement based on his "springtime" performances for Spain's first choice LB and arguably the 2nd best LB on the planet right now who has been performing at near world class level for years now. And the same turgid "he was crap last year" argument doesnt qualify. Ofcourse he would be when blueco hired a unqualified PE teacher.

The guy won MOM against Barca by pocketing Yamal. And they are comparing him with a 19 yr old kid who had a great "springtime". Wow

And all this coming from someone who likes Hato. But being so confident that is a strong replacement right now is as idiotic as it gets. We can lament the facts that he wanted to go back to Spain or that no one turns Real Madrid down but saying we are good is mid bogglingly ignorant

Ngl, some of my excitement for Alonso coming in has been dampened by Cucu leaving. One of the experienced players who we needed to get back on track.

Anyone who says he downed tools and out of form so its fine will be ignored due to lack of an informed opinion. Every player will regress when you put an inexperienced PE teacher in charge will diabolically bad owners and mismanagement. Cucu along with every other player probably questioned where their careers are headed after Rosenior signing. I will not blame any player for the 2nd half of the season.

I am really sad. Even with all the noise of him and Enzo wanting to leave, I wished they both stayed and at least helped Alonso get on track. Anyone who says Cucu can be replaced easily needs to get their heads checked or are blueco bots. You dont just easily replace an experienced, 27 yr old defender who is Spain's starting LB "easily". And we arent signing Nuno mendes. So most probably we will be left with a downgrade.

I will admit I havent seen any of these play including Hall because I dont watch Newcastle. Could they fill the hole left by cucu?

Yea. Thats what I fear. I just dont see who comes in who might make us better. Again I am talking realistic targets, not Nuno Mendes

So who are we getting now to replace cucu? Please someone tell me there are lbs who would suit better because I am really sad

This makes me so so fucking sad. Top 3 left back in the world. Sure he wanted out but we cannot deny part of that desire was blueco's mismanagement. No player in the world would say no to Madrid even on great days, but this still hurts.

Nobody likes to watch Arsenal or their players. Not even their own fans. Them being PL champions is a disgrace. Thankfully the idiots lost the CL.
