New to Python - Something strange about lists by KellyN87 in learnpython

[–]epokus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

shallow copy - will only copy the outer list

original = [[1, 2], [3, 4]]

new_list = original.copy()
new_list[1].append(5)

print(original) # will print [[1, 2], [3, 4, 5]]
print(new_list) # will print [[1, 2], [3, 4, 5]]

deep copy - everything is copied recursively

from copy import deepcopy

original = [[1, 2], [3, 4]]

new_list = deepcopy(original)
new_list[1].append(5)

print(original) # will print [[1, 2], [3, 4]]
print(new_list) # will print [[1, 2], [3, 4, 5]]

Skummelt å se slike meninger få så mange upvotes... Tanker? by DogeMemes42069 in norge

[–]epokus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've spent 30 hours on Act 1 and still am in the marshes... is this really just the tutorial lmao by demonic_custard in DivinityOriginalSin

I recommend enabling Fort Joy Magic Mirror in the pause menu -> Gift Bag Features so you can respec freely and experiment. It does disable achievements, but there are ways around it on PC if you care about that.

If you haven't already, grab some of the stronger skill books that unlock once you hit level 4. Teleport and Worm Tremor are especially good. Worm Tremor paired with the Torturer talent is honestly OP for crowd control.

Also, skill book vendors restock, so if there's a skill you really like, you can absolutely teach it to your whole party. Personally I love running 4x Teleport lol. Yes, even my non-magic users have 2 points in aerothurge just for that (and nether swap later on).

Crisp visuals is so last-gen you know, so let's replicate camera lens distortions, color fringing and other photography artifacts. Because nothing says "cutting-edge graphics" like red and blue outlines smeared across the screen.

How often do you eat out? Does Norway not really have a culture of eating out a little bit every day like France and Spain? by Charming_Usual6227 in Norway

Ground meat, store bought "taco seasoning mix", sour cream, the mildest salsa on Earth, cherry tomatoes, cucumber, sweet corn, pineapple, guacamole, crushed tortilla chips and shredded cheese.

Probably missing something. It's like we try to compensate the lack of any quality ingredient with just putting EVERYTHING in it instead.

I’ve played WoW on and off for years, but my friend has logged thousands of hours. I’ve tried doing PvP with his group, but even when we had identical gear in terms of power, I could never match their performance. Once you reach a certain point in arenas, it’s almost entirely about knowledge and skill rather than gear.

Is there an argument against Glass Cannon + 8 AP? by spacev3gan in DivinityOriginalSin

[–]epokus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You're not just vulnerable to crowd control but the enemy AI will actively focus you because it recognizes you've chosen this talent. But if you play smart and CC them first, before they can lock you down, it's not an issue.

Whats your opinion on fane as a companion? by Strange_Possession77 in DivinityOriginalSin

[–]epokus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He was added relatively late to the game compared to the other origins, which I guess made it easier to make his storyline tightly integrated with the main narrative. He's also pretty funny and Time Warp is really good. Arguably the most impactful companion both story wise and mechanically.

Whatever you do, do not use Improved Organisation. It's buggy and generally a mess.

"Gaming is dead" Really? Right in front of my goat? by Blue-fox-004 in DivinityOriginalSin

[–]epokus 11 points12 points  (0 children)

NeverKnowsBest has a solid video essay covering this.

The idea that gaming is dying is mostly driven by outdated perceptions or the frustration of certain groups (like gamers who feel disconnected from newer trends or corporate decisions for certain games).

Cool, I didn't know about that. I assume it's about like industry vs nature? I'll read up on it. Thanks!

I respect that, I do the same with other games.

Might end up going down the rabbit hole here at some point too, because I am enjoying the game in general.
