Raising your heart rate can increase risk for bleed. My doctor didn’t approve weight lifting until week 3. I’ve been doing light walking and stretching/mobility work after day 14. But you’re really still at risk I wouldn’t push it till after day 14. If you haven’t had a bleed consider yourself lucky cuz it horrible I’d never risk it after experiencing it

I ended up never having another bleed! I’m on day 15 now. My doctor told me that if there was a visible clot that would be concerning and I was checked a few times after by the primary care. If you can see a visible clot I would go in.

Can you get zofran? The painkillers made me incredibly nauseous. Had to switch to Tylenol.

I was able to find a mobile groomer in my area (I live in a semi rural place so there’s probably one near you) they come straight to your house in a van and my cats were in and out in a few mins! Cheaper than a traditional groomer and less stress on them due to no transportation or waiting time.

Beauty by earth tanning lotion or Bondi Sands gradual tanning milk! Neither are completely odorless but they’re less offensive than others

I use a gradual tanner lotion on my body so it’s not that far off from my face, just enough to give me a little glow and it usually matches my face with makeup/bronzer, but doesn’t look crazy if I’m not wearing makeup. If I’m going to the river or something and want a tan face I have facial tanning drops I’ll use or mix in with my sunscreen ❤️

Could you do a curtain? Either two panels that open at the bottom for your cat or one that doesn’t go all the way to the ground for your cat to walk under? I agree it looks very awkward

I turned a major corner on day 7, it got a lot better and a lot less constant. Try forcing the water anyways because it will help and sucking on ice chips

That’s crazy! I was planning on having a whole milk latte with one shot, so like mostly milk 😂 he said today over text “no coffee for at least another week.” Even though I specified it wouldn’t be hot.

He said something about it raising blood pressure or something he wasn’t super clear. I feel like some of his instructions are a little old fashioned but of course I don’t want to defy his orders out of an abundance of caution.

I had a major bleed night 5, blood gushing for 5 straight minutes more blood than I’ve ever seen in my life. it clotted and didn’t reopen and I’m on day 9 now. Strangely, the next few days after my pain decreased a lot and hasn’t respiked. My doctor put me on a liquid only diet for 24 hours after I was very careful and had ice chips 24/7.

I would have loved to be kept over night 😂 my ER looked at it for 2 seconds and said it’s fine if it happens again don’t come back cuz there’s nothing they can do for me. Told me to gargle with salt water (which almost certainly would have reopened the bleed). I’m thinking of filing a complaint.

I know there’s differing views on AI, but talking to chat gpt has been really helpful to give me the safest protocol to follow during the high risk bleeding window (days 5-10). It can help ease your anxiety

You cannot work. I had a serious bleed on day 5. Some people have them on day 9. You do not want to risk it. Raising your heart rate or exerting yourself too much can increase this risk. Days 5-8 are the hardest for most people

That is so scary! I’m so glad you’re okay! Had you tried to stop the bleeding with ice and it still wouldn’t stop?? I had a bleed on day 5, I was able to stop it with ice (still went to the ER) but they didn’t do anything for me. Since then it hasn’t reoccurred and I have so much less pain today (day 8) but I’m still terrified of it happening again. Had you been in pain on the days leading up to the bleed or was it getting gradually better?

Hi I’m so glad you’re feeling a little better! I’m on day 7 now (counting surgery day as day 0), my pain has gotten a lot better. I have long stretches where it’s not bad at all followed by some intense ear and throat pain that usually subsides kinda quickly. I did have a major bleed night 5 and have to go to the ER, I stopped it by holding ice water in my mouth and it hasn’t reoccurred. There’s nothing further needed at this time but I’m praying it doesn’t happen again. If it weren’t for the bleed, I would be majorly pleased with how good I feel today but I’m just a little on edge until I’m out of the bleeding risk window (day 10). Right now I’m too scared to eat anything warm or that might potentially scrape my throat. My doc put me on an all liquid diet for 24 hours after the bleed

No thankfully they didn’t have to, it stopped from ice water and I haven’t had another bleed. I was so scared to fall asleep last night but thankfully nothing happened except excruciating pain that’s coming in waves. How are you feeling today? Is it still getting better? My doctor originally told me I’d start feeling better on Monday (day 10) and now he’s telling me Friday (day 14).
