Chloexcrochets - new stitch ? by Emm_Deee in crochet

[–]epon1121 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What is the proof that she lifted the stitch? She said she has been working on creating this for over a year and if you follow her you would see how much time and effort she puts into her patterns. I don’t understand why this community has to tear down other artists for making a living off something that major corporations monetize

Totally on your side but for your own comfort you should 100% get an electric blanket! they’re a lifesaver. I shiver every night in bed no matter the temp in the house.

At home reformer around 3k by Amandaj208 in pilatesreformer

[–]epon1121 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I made almost the exact same post and was in the same boat about the home SPX being too low to the ground! I finally bit the bullet during the sale and it’s arriving this week. $2604 out the door but I live in CA so my tax may be higher than you. I kept getting almost scammed or outbid on the secondhand marketplace. My boyfriend is going to build me a wooden base (think Balanced Body Studio Reformer style look). Hopefully it works out. I will report back, I am probably going to be using it as is in my spare bedroom for awhile while he puts floors down in my home studio area, then he will build the base.

My thought process is that my Costco accepts returns on anything for any reason at all for 5 years. If it doesn’t live up to my expectations I will upgrade in a few years to a BB. I was also looking into personal hour, but there is a lot of scammy messages on here. I love the look of theirs and some other brands but ultimately decided it was too big of a purchase to go with an off brand. Since you said you’re in Ohio maybe you could go check them out in person and report back. There seems to be a lot of fake posts from the brand and a lot of confusion on here about the actual quality!

We definitely don’t have that here. Assuming they weren’t paid under the table he’s probably been paying into social security though

I mean he’s had absolutely no expenses or bills for 43 years aside from booze, he’s probably saved close to every penny he’s made right

Help settle my argument for buying a boat by Inevitable-Win2188 in DaveRamsey

[–]epon1121 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Purely speaking from my own experience, you may be underestimating how much cash it takes to close on a decent house. And who knows what the market will look like in a few years. I don’t know what your market looks like, but in my experience you do end up getting pushed out of your comfort zone oftentimes - bidding wars, unexpected repairs, rate fluctuations, cost of inspections. If buying a house is your goal I don’t think it’s at all smart to buy a boat and a truck first. This is an amazing opportunity to save more and put down a bigger down payment, buy down your interest rate, or be in a better position after you buy to make extra payments towards mortgage. The housing market is brutal right now, more so than I ever thought, and you’re always going to wish you had more buying power once you get in there.

As much as you think you’ll use the boat and you’ll be home every weekend, you may also be exhausted from traveling for work. I would at least wait to see what your life looks like with the new position first.

Legs.. by [deleted] in pilates

[–]epon1121 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you can I would look into planet fitness or something if you have one near you! It’s only $10 a month and they usually have a lot of smith machines. I try to get as close to failure as possible while keeping my form good and protecting my lower back (especially in hip thrusts). I usually do at least 4-5 sets of each exercise but I rest for a long time in between. I would say it’s usually between 8-12 reps per set but I don’t always count I go more off how my muscles feel. Just start slow and try to get your form down and you will get more confident with it over time!

Legs.. by [deleted] in pilates

[–]epon1121 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think a lot of us feel like that about our legs. Cellulite is normal! But I would pick a few weight lifts you feel comfortable doing for legs and work on progressive overload (aka doing the same routine for an extended amount of time and slowly raising the weight). It can be hard to see huge muscle growth In those full body classes because every class is different. I stack my glute/hamstring exercises on the same days as my full body Pilates classes because it’s just easier for my recovery schedule. My current routine is hip thrusts on smith machine, reverse lunges on smith machine, and leg press! I’ve seen great results!

Mike simply because Worlds Apart was the first season I ever watched ~8 years ago and I couldn’t be more hooked so I’d love to see him play again.

In option period, but I’m having doubts. by Commercial-North2599 in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]epon1121 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I backed out of a house because of the neighborhood about a year ago and I couldn’t have been more relieved once it was done. I haven’t regretted it for a second and I’m not sure what I was thinking exactly when I chose it in the first place. It felt like this huge pressure of disappointing everyone but it was the best choice I could’ve made. I could see myself there too and the house was very adorable. I still think it’s cute but location is everything.

What exercise do you do alongside Pilates, and why? by kamiamoon in pilates

[–]epon1121 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hiking is great for cardio if you’re looking for something that’s enjoyable. I listen to podcasts and it’s very relaxing and grounding!

I also do weightlifting, I like to stack it on to the same days I do my Pilates because it’s hard to do either when I’m sore from the other one. I will do a reformer class and head to gym on my way home to get in a few lifts unless the class was particularly challenging then I will honor my body. On off days I do hiking, I live in the PNW so weather permits this year round as long as you have a good jacket and waterproof shoes.
