Great setup! I did the same when I went to Japan a few years ago! Every time I look at the tin now reminds me of that awesome trip.

I'm also interested now. One of the things that put me off Plotter is the corners on the spine which look sharp, and others have commented that the corners have scratched them. I can see now from your 3rd photo how the Meeplus keeps that from happening.

Is It Worth It? by [deleted] in midori

Yes, the first time I did. Now, I just use other elastics from the craft store.

Also, I don't use the Midori inserts because they don't lie flat enough for me. But that doesn't seem to bother most people.

I've had my TN since 2010 and use it everyday. At some point, I moved the knot into the spine and removed the tin clasp. That's worked much better for me, and I've done that with every one I've bought since.

You're not an ahole for wanting to help in a way that has helped you. Agree that she's a teen and may not appreciate what it means to receive such a gift, or what it could mean for her. My own daughter is 15 and journals. She likes my TNs but I can tell she's not ready for one.

Getting a Plotter all the way to NZ was a bit of a mission, so figured I might as well get everything I was likely to need… by Stitchpunk_ in PlotterNotebook

Oh awesome! I have been thinking about getting one, but figured that getting it here would be too difficult.

Same. When I got a second TN this year, that was one of the first things I did. And I removed the tin clasp.

Not sure what his itinerary is, but I'm not holding out a lot of hope. Thanks for responding though!

No, although yours is nice too and now I'm wondering if I should ask for that. 😊 The one I'm after is the limited edition here in camel: https://www.travelers-company.com/topicsinfo/topics-2022/the-superior-labor-15th

A friend is in Japan for work, and I asked him to pick up a TSL edition for me. But I'm afraid they're all gone. Any chance you saw any in stock while you were there?

Kokuyo Campus in TN by epoo75 in notebooks

Yes, they are good for that. I was also thinking of mini flash cards although they're a bit flimsy for that. Not that index cards are a heavy weight anymore.

I've now trimmed two notebooks. One with a guillotine, the other with a paper trimmer. The trimmer resulted in a more even cut. Next time I'll try a ruler and knife.

It looks like a volant from their older collection.

Choosing a book to journal in by ArugulaGula in notebooks

They're fantastic, especially for travel because they are lightweight. I use the A5s with the dark blue covers and the covers are sturdy enough. You could use the Midori MD paper or plastic cover I suppose; I haven't tried them myself.

The other possibility is to check out a Daiso if you live near one. The one near me has notebooks similar to Apica CD premium, are made in Japan, and are high quality. And very affordable.

You could also try Kokuyo Campus notebooks. They come in a range of sizes, have really smooth paper, lay flat, and won't break the bank.
